PRESQUE ISLE, Maine It is not uncommon for firefighters to get called to rescue a cat stuck in a tree, but crews in northern Maine recently had to rescue a cat's owner.
A woman climbed 75 feet up a tree in Presque Isle to try and save her cat, but then she panicked and called 911.
The fire department came with a ladder truck and brought her to safety.

If you've ever been to Presque Isle...you understand.
It is a damn shame she wasn’t able to improve the gene pool. Maybe there is time left.
I can, I’m one of them. She is not quite old enough to be a hippie boomer. The sooner those die off the happier I’ll be.
Pretty tree.
An airsoft gun would have got the cat out of that tree.
In my 60+ years on this best of all possible worlds, I’ve never seen a cat skeleton in a tree... Hint, Hint.
Woman climbs tree 10 ft. “Can you hear me now?” Climbs another 15 feet. “Can you hear me now?”...
So would opening a delectable can of cat food. You leave it at the base of the tree, get out a chair and imbibe an adult beverage. The reason for the last part? To shoo away the raccoons and critters who also like cat food.
Good idea.
Guns in that part of Maine are usually of a larger caliber. ;)
Cat prob climbed on her head, down her back, down the tree and in the house for a snack.
“The cat ended up climbing down on its own.”
I tried that once and the cat went another 40ft up.
He came down a while later in the week...watched him fall a good 50 ft and into some Bushes...went to pick him up and he pissed all over me just like he had held it in all week.

At which point, the cat easily scampered down the tree, visited several local Maine banks to withdraw the entirety of the woman’s savings, and purchased a 1st class ticket to Paraguay under the assumed name of “Mr. Pilkington.”
What? You know that was that cat’s plan all along!
For all we know, she was climbing to get a phone signal.
Saving kitty ping!
That’s one of those trans-antenny trees.
(a repeater tower claiming tree privilege.)
Save her cat from what? How often does a person find cat skeletons stuck in a tree after they’ve starved to death because they couldn’t get down?
Glad they saved her, ‘cuz we don’t need to add human skeletons to all of those cat skeletons that are already up in our trees.
Where’s Tackleberry when you need him
