Who's awake at this hour?

Posted on 11/09/2014 1:45:59 AM PST by MNDude

It's the middle of the night! (Or VERY early morning). Who's up at this time, and why?

I went to bed too early because I was exhausted from work.

I am. Wake up every morning about 3:45-4:00 AM. Don’t need a clock.

I’m up! Shouldn’t be; I have stuff to do tomorrow. I have precious little “me” time, what with homeschooling our two kids, and I’ve gotten into a bad habit of staying up too late. Been thinking about trying that thing where you stay up for 24 hours and go to sleep (finally!) at the bedtime you’d like to have. Has anyone tried doing a sleep reset like that?

I took some night time cough syrup, but now I have a bad feeling that it will not kick in until it is time to go to church.

I’ve heard fasting for 16 hours resets your circadian rhythms, but I’m not sure if that’s true or not.

I spent the early evening drinking bourbon and talking to a friend about his wild times in the Haight Ashbury district of SF during the sixties. I am amazed at his stories which including meeting Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, beatniks Alan Ginsburg/Alan Watts and lots of sex, drugs, rock. He is mostly conservative now but wow what a misspent youth. This lasted until about 8:30 then he went off to a wake and I continued drinking and fell asleep early, which caused me to wake up at about 1 am. Now its time for a cigar and some more bourbon.

I am up. Listening to K-Love and surfing the net, looking at 2014 election night news. Just felt like reliving a bit of it.
