The nearest one that definitely has something resembling arms rooms and ammo handling areas would be Fort Benning. Possibly Fort Rucker if they’re closer to the Alabama side of Georgia.
Herschel is both old and crippled. Carol is younger and mobile. She is clearly learning medical knowledge, and the group needs a backup doctor more than they need a scapegoat.

Yes, that is exactly the kind of thing I am proposing, drop them from a height. The only thing bad about a quarry is they are outside of town, and so you would have to find a way to lure the zombies out to the quarry.
That’s why you put the bicycles in back of an 18 wheeler. Drive between towns in something massive . Scout in town in bikes.
Zombies are killed on every show, they just have to kill the brain. If you drop them from a high enough height, it will kill their brains. Even stomping them in the head with your shoes works on the show. They aren't that sturdy anymore.
For instance, there is a seven story parking garage at 165 Courtland Street Northeast, Atlanta. It would be easy for zombies to walk up to the top. Lure them up there with music or lights, and hang some bait over the side of the building. If they fall seven stories, they probably won't survive.
And just how exactly would that perpetuate the continuation of this series, assuming of course that your idea had even an iota of being successful?
Well, there is the difference between me and a tv character. I would try to solve the problem, and a tv actor is just trying to milk the apocalypse for a paycheck
I like Michonne, but damn it, Carol earned Daryl, LOL. She's closer to his age, anyway.
I’m mental enough to have understood Marylin Manson when he was on the Talking Dead 2 weeks ago, LOL. There is something between Darryl and Machone. Getting rid of Carroll will let it it go. But maybe Carroll will come back and cause some some opera issues, I suspect that it will.
They will have to develop the Tyrees charachter soon. And his moby dick revenge attitude toward Carroll will be an issue I think. The only issue I see is who will go with him. Machonne has already schooled him and has faced her issues already. But will Darryl have a big issue with his feelings toward Carroll and his issue with the Rick versus Council government of the prison be an issue?
Honestly? I liked Tyreese last season, but so far this year he’s been a grunting, tantruming mess...he bites the head off anyone who speaks to him. If Rick was so concerned about Carol committing murder, why would Tyreese murdering Carol be tolerated? Tyreese should be told to deal with it or hit the road.
I actually ended up feeling kind of sorry for Manson...that is one mixed-up dude.
They’ve set up the possibility for some good conflict. I’m hoping we will get to see Rick’s explanation of what happened to Carol.

I enjoyed a fascinating article the other day which stated that a “real” zombie apocalypse would last one week, tops.
The reason for the short duration? Because Mother Nature is very, very good at getting rid of dead tissue. Between bugs, bacteria, bears and birds, the zombies would be consumed inside of a week, leaving nothing but bones behind.
I’ve often wondered about the lack of decomposition on “Walking Dead” and why the walkers are still walking at all. Zombies just don’t add up. Never have.

Season 4 so far has sucked more than a hooker when the fleet arrives on payday after a six month deployment.
Things I am getting sick of on the show:
Ricks whining and moral superiority.
Every time a new character gets a little screen time time, they get killed off.
What happened to Carl between seasons? Was he lobotimized? He was badass in season 3 and said he was taking over.
Zombies dropping through the roof scene made no sense. The zombies were up there how long and suddely the roof is made of tissue paper.
Zombie flu?? WTF?? Writing has gotten so bad on this show.

The roof was leaking and over time it eventually rotted out to the point that it couldn't withstand the combined weight of all the walkers who had gathered in that one spot on the roof.....
...and a helicopter that had crashed
