"Living in a zombie apocalypse must be hard for anyone, let alone the leader of a group. Yet still, when this fictional horror happens, time and time again we expect a man to rise up and take command. It’s just human nature – some people are born to lead, and just need the reason for doing so."

..........rick grimes is the worst?

(I don't agree with some of these.but its fun-'V'-) This is a list of the titles of each page followed by the author's critique .

10. Living On A Farm.

9. Making The Barn Walker Problem Worse.

8. Breaking The News About Everyone Being Infected When Morale Is Gone.

7. Not Dealing With Shane Earlier.

6. Going Back For Merle Dixon.

5. Not Keeping Track Of Carl.

4. Not Teaching Carl To Use Weaponry Earlier.

3. Allowing The Whole Woodbury Lot Into The Prison.

2. Not Pursuing Andrew.

1. Keeping Randall Alive.

Rick Grimes is one of these men. As the for-all-intents-and-purposes .....Rick has all sorts of problems. He began the series comatose, dealt with an unfaithful wife, a disrespecting son, various psychopaths and his rapidly-unraveling best friend, and that was just for the first two seasons. The third saw him engage in out-and-out war against another settlement while attempting to keep control of his own insanity. Simply put, the man has it tough, so it’s only natural he’s going to make a bad decision every now and again. After all, nobody’s perfect, and when you’re under this much strain, it’s always possible that you’re going to screw up. So in honour of Walking Dead’s upcoming fourth series (which looks freaking awesome, by the way) I’ve decided to catalogue some of the Grimes Paterfamilias’ worst mistakes. If he can avoid errors of this magnitude this up-coming season, the prison might just have a shot.

5. Not Keeping Track Of Carl.

5. Agree

4. Not Teaching Carl To Use Weaponry Earlier.

4. No, allowing him to be in danger at all is the problem. Carl should be in the prison studying, because one day he will be the only man alive who has seen electricity, cars, TVs, Internet, any of modern civilization. He must be around to help preserve knowledge and civilization. Fighting zombies is a waste of his time.

1. The number one mistake of the whole series: Letting the women run around fighting zombies. 99% of the population has just been wiped out, and probably 90% of the survivors would be men, because men are over represented in jobs that would protect them from the initial zombie apocalypse, like in submarines, mines, oil platforms. Women, and their ability to repopulate the Earth, have become the most valuable resources on the planet. Yet in Rick's group, Maggie and Michonne especially, are out risking their lives daily fighting zombies. Men are expendable, go get a man to do that.

At the beginning, when he first met Glenn, he’s trapped in a tank and trying to figure out how he’s going to make a break to get to Glenn’s group. I’m watching that and thinking- wait- what?

Dude. You’re IN A TANK. Crawl into the driver’s station and see if you can figure the thing out. It’s a tank, not a particle accelerator.

Even if you can’t or it’s out of fuel- it does have electrical power (fighting compartment lights and radio work). Tell Glenn to take cover. 360 the turret while firing the coax. Climb out, retrieve the bag-o’-guns, and stroll across the carpet of dead zombies.

Cutting the grass around the prison doesn’t seem really smart.

1. Driving a Hyundai instead of a Peterbuilt Truck with 8 wheel drive that could smash through anything, has a CB radio, runs on diesel, and would be difficult for zombies to climb into, if stuck.

2. Not taking the Ma-Duces (.50s) in front of the CDC.

3. Not getting construction equipment and digging ditches, placing large caltrops, or whatever kind of area-denial weaponry they could figure out.

4. Not creating active traps to thin the numbers of walkers in the area (e.g., bait and trap them)

5. Not blocking roads or areas of easy entrance to thin herds of walkers, who seem to take the path of least resistance (see No. 4 — be easy to herd them into dead ends they can’t figure their way out of).

I agree that radios should be on the top of their wish list. They need a truck with a snowplow blade on the front for zombie takedowns. Honk the horn till they come out on the street, then wham.

I’m a Rick fan, but I think his decision to cut Carol loose was premature. He should have taken the issue to the council, since he says he doesn’t want to lead, and put her in a cell.

The “walking dead” is pretty much a textbook on what not to do during the upcoming zombie apocalypse.

His supreme error, IMO, has been in fighting a running defensive battle against the walkers without any intention of actually solving the walker problem. He has failed to realize his role in this apocalypse. Zombies are a disease and he and his group are the cure, the white blood cells, the killer T cells of the world. He should have taken the battle to them and destroyed them wholesale wherever they occurred. He should have been thinking of ways to kill them by the hundreds of thousands.

That's a real BIG assumption Riley considering the tank was dead in its tracks for a reason.......what happned to the occupants who obviously had personal knowledge about its functionability?

You jump into that death can and you're stuck until you either come up for air, die of thirst or die of starvation since there's a whole lot of zombies hanging around that "fast food tank" waiting for their take out meal..........

Are you talking from experience?

The Walking Dead is a wonderful series, provided one watches it as a metaphor for modern life. The zombies are all around us these days, particularly in Washington D.C. and in most state assemblies, in the media, and all universities. They are also seeded liberally (choice of vocabulary deliberate) throughout society.

The Governor could be read as Lenin, Stalin, Mao or what have you. Anyone who promises safety in exchange for liberty, fakes straightforwardness, and leads a secret and degenerate life in private. Certain American so-called “leaders” come to mind, ahem, naming no names.

When Rick and all the others attempt to keep on living life as if nothing had happened, it’s telling. How many people in these modern days of zombie proliferation keep right on attempting to live life as if nothing were going on?

It’s the old story of the frog in the pot with the heat turned up. The frog never jumps out of the water and is slowly cooked.

Don’t be fooled - zombies are everywhere. The question is, How will it affect your life?

Yeah but I doubt Carol will stay gone. She’s become kind of a female Daryl.

I agree, I think she’ll be back, and probably before too long.

I want to see the group’s reaction to it.

Wow, that's pretty intense insight. What would you suggest to him on how to implement your strategy?
