LOL...that is SO pathetic. Poor guy is going to go viral the world over.
Yea I just had to post it too. Any FReepers here a black belt? Can they tell me how he got his???
Somebody in the crowd should have just walked over and started kicking his ass.
well, the direction of the grain does matter... that being said, his kicks don’t seem to have a lot of snap to them and he’s not targeting through the board. like the last couple of kicks... full extension was at the board, resulting in less power.
only once did I have an issue breaking a board (2 actually) ... and it was due to the grains being crossed
I have, and no, I can't. (Although, to be fair, a lot of his problems are more due to the people holding the board.)
Reminds me of Obama.... All confidence and no competence.
The more black belts a school has, the more impressive it believes it looks to prospective students. Too little time between promotions. Etc...
Ni-dan here, Mu Duk Kwan. We had white belt kids breaking boards. I mean children. This is just...embarrassing. It's pure speculation because I wasn't there, but I noticed no concentration, no voice, no dynamics, just going through the motion. The problem is that even just going through the motion should have been good enough. It's a board, f'Petessake. A black belt should be able to break through that much concrete because I had to and I'm a wuss. Embarrassing.
Something is wrong with this kicks I know that much. I know ballet dancers who could break that board with one blow but for some reason he does not have it in him to give the right kick.
Yep. Poor technique. It didn’t help that the guy(s) holding the boards weren’t standing fast, either.
Anyone can break a board with proper technique, they key to which is driving your fist or foot solidly through the point of impact.
Brown in JKD, and my master would beat me senseless if I even failed at that attempt.
Nasty.
Yep. It can be brutal
He broke his thumb! (And you'd better believe he was a-hurtin'!)
Many schools you pay your money and you advance regardless of skill.
