Ooops! I misread the header and thought it said “Terrorists”. The only dark matter “they” should be concerned with will actually be grey matter as it exists the back of their heads.

OMG. FR is a political organization. I thought you meant “Terrorists” are involved in this.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of that kid Jacob Barnett and his theory about white holes?

Dark matter particles are moving more slowly and are less able to affect the heavy xenon nucleus.
++++++++++++++
I was a little surprised by this statement. Here we are searching for a particle where we really have no idea what it’s mass is and we are claiming it must be a slow mover.

I think they are guessing.

You too? I did a double take, and finally read it correctly.

Question for anyone who knows: so dark matter is just floating around us, unseen?

What if our bodies are made of some dark matter in addition to regular matter. Could that be the soul?

They are guessing, a guess is where all good science STARTS.

R Feynman explains the scientific method in 1 minute:

Womder if M Mann, Hansen, P Jones have ever thought to apply that insight to their climate models also. :D

I think they should hunt for dark matter where it is dark.

:p

Comparing these models to the latest observations from the WMAP satellite, it had been concluded quite precisely that the Universe contained a mixture of 4% baryonic matter (all of the matter which made up everything we could see in the Universe), 26% dark matter, and 70% dark energy.
Ordinary Meeting, 2008 May 28 held at the Royal Astronomical Society, ... by Ford, Dominic / Journal of the British Astronomical Association.

In other words:
We (baryonic matter) are the froth on top of the rest of the Universe.

Or the Universe is repeated in form in every glass of beer you drink.

” We (baryonic matter) are the froth on top of the rest of the Universe.”

Yes, I’ve read this before. Somehow I thought that dark matter, dark energy were far away from world, at the edge of the universe or something.

This seems to imply that dark matter is present around us now.

Just wondering if brain function or aspects of our body could be made up of dark matter. Or if there would be anyway to know.

This would be humorous if it were not for the real money chasing these chemeras.

D.R. Humphreys has shown how dark matter is a bandaid on a failed “cosmos.”
