To all you Anti-Birthers who said we have to defeat Obama at the ballot box...
today | DiogenesLamp

Posted on 11/14/2012 8:14:02 AM PST by DiogenesLamp

A lot of people who were against us "birthers" said the issue was nonsense, and a distraction, and that we should quit wasting time on it because "we have to defeat Barack Obama at the ballot box." As a person who saw how the media swindled us out of the 2008 election, I never took it as a given that we would be ABLE to defeat Obama at the ballot box. Why would the media not do the same thing to us in 2012? Given that the election fraud perpetrated by Democrats had been taken to an entirely new level by this Chicago crew, I saw it as a real danger that winning an election against this guy was no sure thing. (He Cheats)

What I also saw in 2008 was someone who was inexplicably sensitive to issues regarding his birth and citizenship, and who displayed a degree of stubbornness towards it that could only be explained by the possibility that he was hiding something really bad. It was a loose thread sticking out. I had always thought we should pull at that thread and see what unravels, but there were those of you out there (and you know who you are) that were absolutely terrified and/or disdainful of touching this issue, and preferred to rely exclusively on a political campaign to save us from this Communist.

There are an awful lot of FReepers who are afflicted with normalcy bias - the belief that we can get things back to normal through previously accepted and conforming methods.

In the past few years I have seen that the Normalcy Bias is a force much more powerful than I ever imagined that it was! It impacts so many people in profoundly deep ways. Aside from the overall lowered intelligence and utter distraction of a vast amount of the populace, the Normalcy Bias causes a great deal of the rest of society (those that could be accurately described as reasonably well-informed and gifted with a fair amount of common sense and intelligence) to simply not “see” what is going on around them. I believe that it operates mainly on a sub- or semi-conscious level, but is powerful enough to remain active at the conscious level (especially if it is not persistently probed and challenged).

A germane and recent example was the large number of folks that pinned their “hopes” on the election of Romney. If you pressed and probed these folks (and I did a fair amount of it) on the root causes and scope of the real problems that we face, they proved that they knew better than to believe that there would be any substantive and fundamental correction under a Romney administration and a full GOP house and senate. (I could see it in their faces even if they struggled to mouth an answer to the contrary!) Yet, almost all of them persisted in their belief that “come November 6, things are going to get better!”

The good news (if you can call it that) is that since Romney wasn't elected, the Normalcy Bias (which offered some sense of an “easier, softer way” to turn things around) has lost some of its sway with some of these folks. I've had a few folks tell me, “man, we're really screwed now, aren't we?!” since November 7. The Romney loss (most likely due to election theft/fraud) has served as a bucket of cold water thrown into their faces.

But, the Normalcy Bias is very strong and runs deep, soon many of these same folks will be pinning their hopes on a GOP Senate in 2014 and a new saviour for 2016, even as things crumble and disintegrate even more rapidly all around them. I believe that it takes acute and lasting shocks at a very personal level to break (or at least weaken) the bonds of the Normalcy Bias. For far too many, those shocks will be hitting home all too soon.

We must not waste our time on this.
Now we must prepare to make the “Grand Bargain” that will eliminate fiscal implosion for at least.....a couple of weeks.
Now we must gird our loins to find funding for Obamacare in the House.
Now we must use our time for this new 9/11 c0mmission that McCain wants.
Now we must engage the other side of the aisle for a Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill.

The list goes on and on....no time for silly birtherismists.

This applicant for the most important job in the country has undergone less of a background check than would any applicant for a job as janitor at the local school.

Obama had very narrow job opportunities. Become a politician, or a community organizer and/or working for radical Communist run organs.

I might have been over-included in your response.

I have always declared the Fraud to be a fraud and ineligible, and to be a forger or an utterer, whichever the harsher term is.

The president deserves to be in prison and whatever else leftist freaks like to wish upon Republicans.

There are obviously a lot of things that aren’t worth a moment of our time and energy.

But since birtherism didn’t have a snowball’s chance in he!! of succeeding, it would’ve been nice if we could have focused our full time and attention on getting enough votes to throw Obama out of the White House.

Up until a few weeks ago, I liked to remind antibirthers that Al Capone was owed a HUGE apology because we ruined his health and life over TAX EVASION when we had absolutely no evidence of murder and racketeering.

We went after Capone with everything we had.

I tolerated antibirther “freepers” because we needed all types to defeat Hussein.

Now I’m not so sure the obnoxious anti-birthers aren’t leftist Hussein Head freaks.

Pull which thread?

The Hawaii BC thread? They are both frauds. This is without a doubt. Unless someone get Hawaii to come clean this is closed with the knowledge that the records are fabricated.

The Born in Kenya thread? I hate this thread. Its a distraction unless someone can find something of substance to go on.

The Indonesia thread? This is one that has not been fully vetted at all. How does a child leave a country where his birth mother and step father are still citizens and still residing. You do not just fly across the Pacific and drop Junior off with the grand parents. Why was Obama senior in Hawaii in December 1971? Why are there conflicting dates and photos during the period of 1968 to 1972?

The college record thread? There is something there. Who knows if its damning. But being a foreign student would not be good. Why the 999-99-xxxx social security numbers at Oxy? These are for foreign students who do not have valid Social security numbers.

The selective service thread? Its a fraud. But it seems the keeper of the records at the agency has a full time job of ‘fixing’ records. Given that is this is hard thread.

Any of these may unravel and unravel badly. The citizen investigators have done a lot. Will anyone in the actual journalist or law enforcement functions do their formal and fiduciary responsibility?

There is plenty of smoke but if you turn your back on the smoke and ignore it it will not get you - in the short run. But eventually the raging fire will overrun you. The journalistic functions and law enforcement and legislative functions have so far successfully turned their back on thick, black smoke. If they wait until the fire is upon them - it may be too late.

He was foreign born when it suited his needs. Then he was not, when it became an issue. The media were more than willing to cover for him.

And it is for this reason that I regard the Liberal controlled media as the greatest threat to this nation's existence. I now regard it as our duty to do whatever we are able to cut their throat financially, and likewise resist them in all other manners.

Hell I was among the first to believe he might be ineligible but I never held the fantasy that he would be removed because of it.

It should not have been so difficult. All we had to do is convince state election officials that his bonifides should be questioned. Apparently we couldn't even convince our own side.

Birthers can never and will never succeed in unseating President Obama.

Because they have too many back stabbing allies. Apparently there are some on the right that want to accept at face value what the lyingest man in political history tells them.

He has no legal or constitutional obligation whatever to prove his eligibility for election.

It is axiomatic in the creation of a legal requirement that the power to enforce it is implicit. The State election officials, failed to exercise that power.

Even if he were ineligible, it would be up to the states and federal governments to initiate legal proceedings to establish his ineligibility.

They do not have to establish his ineligibility. *HE* has to establish his ELIGIBILITY. They should have required him to do so four years ago, but they had never dealt with a potentially ineligible candidate before, and they did not know how to do their jobs properly.

This is something no federal or state Attorney General will ever do.

It never should have gotten to a Federal Level, or for that matter it should never have gotten to an Attorney General Level. He should have either presented the proof, or been stricken from the ballot.

Mitt Romney came within 2% of beating the President.

For all I know, Mitt Romney may have beaten him by 2%. I am not ready to conclude that what just transpired was an non-fraudulent election. Too much hankypanky being reported so far.

Birthers will never come within a million miles of unseating him.

And it is as a result of people like you that this prediction is a self fulfilling prophecy. Thanks you for all your work to torpedo efforts to force him to an account.

The Nation owes you a debt, not of gratitude, but of contempt. At least we tried to do something.

We got further than all the fly by night lawsuits ‘birthers’ wasted time and effort on.

Yes, a strong second place is MUCH better than a weak second place.

At least we had a shot at defeating Obama. You have and have never had a chance since the 2008 election was certified. But don’t let the constitution stand in your way.

Is English your second language? The Comments above come across as gibberish to me. It is the constitution that we were attempting to insure compliance with.

I don’t think it would be hard to prove he was not born in the United States. The problem is, no one wants to do it. They’d be called names. Who’da thought calling names would work.

Social pressure is exactly the correct answer. Who wanted to be the person to point out that the first Black candidate for President wasn't eligible? Who wanted to deal with the screaming and hatred they would receive from the left?

I’m with you DiogenesLamp.

The eligibility issue is a Constitutional issue.

We should be demanding a congressional investigation, a special prosecutor and a Supreme Court review.

I wouldn't be so quick to ask for that. It is my personal opinion that the entire Judiciary is filled with people who do not actually understand the meaning, the purpose, and the intent of Article II. They have all been taught wrong, going back centuries.

Till the legal system has been educated to correct their wrong understanding, they will rule wrongly on this every single time.

*HE* has to establish his ELIGIBILITY.

Simply incorrect.

That's a blind alley.

If he actually was born overseas (which I do not believe), the wisest course of action would be to have supported legislation in one or two key swing states that would require proof of birthright or naturalized citizenship for ballot access to state or national offices.

Instead, the Birthers went with the Taitz litigation strategy.

How did that work out for you?

Barry told the world, he was born with foreign citizenship, inheriting his foreign father's foreign citizenship by birthright (regardless of his actual place of birth).

That, alone, should have been enough to get everyone interested in protecting and preserving the Constitution and our Republic to get involved.

Now, with Barry setting the precedent in the wide open that anyone born owing allegiance to a foreign power is eligible to be our President and Commander in Chief of our armed forces.

According to much of the country...and many here on FR, the Dauphin of France, Prince Louis Duke of Burgundy is constitutionally eligible.

The "strong check" placed in our Constituion against foreign influence upon the office of the President, has been openly destroyed. One now, only needs the backing of the media, academia and hollywood to be determined eligible.

John Jay, the framers and the rest of the founders would be appalled.

The only way to remove a president is Article 2 Section 4. Is that the part of the Constitution you’re trying to uphold?

"A simple test of Obammy's citizenship would be to determine where his loyalties lie, before, during and after being elected.

The founders were worried that someone with loyalties to another country or to another system of government could not be trusted with the Constitution and would work to dismantle it.

Nothing to worry about here, right? "

Bingo!

The founders NEVER envisioned a President and Commander in Chief, born with foreign citizenship (post grandfather clause), to be eligible.

Even the modern day State Department rules discusses the problems associated with dual citizenship:

7 FAM 081: U.S. Policy on Dual Nationality:

(e)While recognizing the existence of dual nationality, the U.S. Government does not encourage it as a matter of policy because of the problems it may cause. Dual nationality may hamper efforts by the U.S. Government to provide diplomatic and consular protection to individuals overseas. When a U.S. citizen is in the other country of their dual nationality, that country has a predominant claim on the person.

...

the U.S. Supreme Court has stated that dual nationality is a "status long recognized in the law" and that "a person may have and exercise rights of nationality in two countries and be subject to the responsibilities of both." See Kawakita v. United States, 343 U.S. 717 (1952).

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/86563.pdf

And this...

US State Department Services Dual Nationality

... The U.S. Government recognizes that dual nationality exists but does not encourage it as a matter of policy because of the problems it may cause. Claims of other countries on dual national U.S. citizens may conflict with U.S. law, and dual nationality may limit U.S. Government efforts to assist citizens abroad. The country where a dual national is located generally has a stronger claim to that person's allegiance.

However, dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country. They are required to obey the laws of both countries. Either country has the right to enforce its laws, particularly if the person later travels there...
