Which spectator was he counting on hitting? If he’s THAT good of a shot why doesn’t he try aiming the puck at the net.

People actually read these stories?

I just found the wording kind of odd. To say he hit a spectator that he wasn’t counting on hitting implies that he was trying to hit a particular spectator. I don’t know why these things strike me as weird. They just do.

To paraphrase Chico Marx, you can't fool me, there's no such thing as hockey fans.

I think every hockey player realizes that he may hit a spectator during a game, but the odds against it being your own wife are huge.

Could have been worse; we had a fan killed by a puck here in Columbus, that's how the netting ended up behind the goals beginning in 2003.
