Moderate ready for a good ZOT!

Posted on 08/04/2010 5:05:03 AM PDT by Lizzie in Boston

I love living in the United States and love political debates!

We had an important senate election here and I proudly chose Scott Brown for senate because Martha Coakley was totally clueless and incompetent.

I looked at both candidates for president carefully. John McCain is a true military hero and even worked across the aisle on McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman and McCain-Kennedy. Thry were three very good bills. However, McCain is anti-choice, anti-gay and too pro-gun.

Barack Obama was short on experience, but I liked his postions on many issues except for the middle east and he's not agressive enough on the war on terror.

I chose President Obama at the end and while he's far from perfect, I'm pleased with my choice.

I love politics and can't wait to get into it! :-) I'm new so be nice while I get used to this site!

Lizzie

xoxo

Welcome to Free Republic. I’m afraid your stay here will be relatively short. This isn’t a forum for open-ended political debate. It’s a conservative forum, intended for conservative debate. Anyone who believes McCain-Feingold, McCain-Leiberman or McCain-Kennedy bipartisanship is a good idea, and who is comfortable with Obama, will not be happy here. We’re not at all interested in such twaddle.

If you’re still “pleased with your choice” you must be either A) an air headed, woefully uninformed boob or B) an avowed Marxist. Which is it?

So why are you pleased, Lizzie? What has Obama done that you think will benefit the nation?

Welcome Lizzie- unlike liberals sites all are welcome here, but we insist on polite behavior, and intelligent discussion.

Since you are a newbie you will get a lot of help with the rules- The first rule is not to post ‘vanity’ posts like this. (A post just from yourself adressed to other members.)

We post news-worth articles for discussion.

Pro-baby-murder (my preferred term for ‘pro choice’) is probably NOT what you wll find from other members.

Big govt and high taxes are our what we are trying to get rid of, so be prepared to not find much agreement here.

He’s destroying your health service, he’s tripled the national debt and your real rate of inflation is pushing 20%.

He’s refused to stand up for the oppressed people of Iran, while trying to reinstate a dictator in Honduras.

His restrictive ROE and published withdrawal date have made the battle against Islamic terror in Afghanistan much more difficult and bloody.

And he sued Arizona when they tried to enforce the law.

Are you still pleased with your choice?

Lizzie darling, you really aren't "ready for a good debate". Your political philosophy comes from a terribly naive place. But I'll be kind to you because you remind me of myself when I was much younger.

We know. Boston received an immense amount of other people's money. I'm sure a lot of unionized construction workers over there love the stimulus. In much the same way as Hitler loved all the gold and treasures he took from subjugated Europe.

Don't flaunt that stolen money in our face, lady.

From Mr. Robinson, the founder of FR

This is FR!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2243314/posts

“I’m going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don’t support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.

I’ll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.

Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.

I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won’t be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.

We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!

We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.

We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.

We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.

We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!

And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.

And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you’re not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!

We bow to no king but God!

Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!

Do NOT Tread on US! “

Hon, you do realize that was the purpose of the health care bill, right? It had nothing to do with health care...it was to control the people.

I chose President Obama at the end and while he's far from perfect, I'm pleased with my choice.

Are you pleased with the result: crippling unemployment, staggering debt, trashing of long-standing alliances with allies, bowing to foreign heads of state, race relations at their worst point in 30 years, etc, etc...

Face it - you and the rest of your fellow idiots have signed the death warrant for what was once a great nation, and consigned it to a future as a second-rate socialist third world entity.

Proud of what you've done, idiot?

Massachusetts has already spent, so far, $500,000 on stiumus signs that you can read in traffic on the highway.... I have seen no other stimulus in effect. Yesterday a giant hole opened up in one of the major highways causing traffic jams of epic proportions. You would think some of that stimulus money would go to the roads, no, it went to the signs.
