"I take a back seat to nobody when it comes to fighting terrorism and standing up for national homeland security. Our port security is too important to place in the hands of foreign governments. I will be working to introduce legislation that will prohibit the sale of ports to foreign governments." —Sen. Hillary Clinton

Is that a fact, Hillary? I remember you sitting on your arse at the State of the Union address.................when the President said something to this effect.

Like you may be, I am wondering why NObody is mentioning the Clinton Administration of proposing the sale of Long Beach Naval Shipyard---to the Chinese!!!

That would have involved selling the land out-right, to Cosco (Chinese Overseas Company), which is controlled DIRECTLY by the Chinese Military, and is seen by them, as being part of their current economic "warfare", the profits of which, are, and have been used, to rapidly build up and expand their military machine... These people (those whom control the Chinese Military) have strong ambitions, and it's beyond "high time" we begin to realize that fact, see it for what it is, then plan accordingly.

I do hope the Hildabeast gets ripped for her statements on this current port issue...ripped, and exposed as being the hypocritical, unwise, disingenuous, treasonous, treacherous, vicious self-serving bitch-on-wheels that she is.

Her and Chuckie Shumer, too peas in the same pod...
[did i just say chuckie was a bitch? heheheh]

Yes, you called chuckie a bitch, and if I knew how to post a picture, i'd post a picture of the bride of chuckie !!

Maybe no one mentions Cosco because they thought it was a grocery or office supply chain and therefore, no big deal......................

"Why don't you just report the news instead of what might be the news?" —Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld

I have a sense that the quality of media is in decline and I can't put my finger on the source of the cause. The symptoms seem to be, regular journalists feel the need to be commentators. Unfortunately, quality of comment has migrated off the presses to greener pastures [BLOGS] and the standards of media commentary are now slipping. Maybe, when hiring, the NYT should ask for a degree in journalism and five years experience of quality blogging?

The popular conception of a quagmire is all wrong. America’s only quagmire is that the media believes itself to be the news. If only reporters were to have the self image of the fiber optic cable they transmit over. Maybe, just maybe, blogs will inject a sense of humility into journalists and they will go back to their roots...

Eureka???

what now? they corner the market on dungeness crab?

Load logs bought from Maxxam?

Start their own oyster spat rookery?

Horn in on the pink shrimp fishery???

Buy up the few remaining bottom trawl permits and go fish slimy dover & blackcod?

Oh, well, at least they could sell the blackcod to the Japs...

Maybe they plan on smuggling in troops and equipment to Fields Landing, then race through the Trinity Range (which is totally undefended), gain acess to I-5 from there, then it's katy, bar the door (to the 'ol root cellar where we're hidin')?

Eureka? WTF??!!??

Humboldt Bay is being considered as a port to relieve some of the congestion in Oakland. Break Bulk container ships would load and off load here but with the RR closed and the poor highway situation it's doubtful. One thing they are kicking around is barging containers in and out of here and transferring to larger ships. I don't see how that helps Oakland.

A self loading container ship starting calling here a couple of months loading pulp from the pulp mill now owned by a Chinese firm...

Thanks for the info.

Now that you remind me, I do seem to recall some mention of this, perhaps reading of it right here on FR.
