Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

I'm with you. I'll never vote for Romney. In fact, I'd rather see Obama win than Romney. Why? Because it's always better for your enemy to be in uniform and standing in front of you. Conservatives will do will in the Congressional elections, and we might just capture both houses. I'd rather be in that strong "defensive" position than have a Liberal posing as a Conservative in the White House.

We're not so bad at defense. I can take another four years of working against Obama. We'll survive that. What we might not survive is being left much longer without a party.

And who knows? Maybe if Romney loses we'll be shut of the "country club" types once and for all. We'll actually have a party base to start from. As it is, we have at the top only people who are ashamed to be in the same party as us Tea Party types.

I want to see them gone and I'm willing to lose an election to get it.

“Your post 304...it is a dilemma of great magnitude if you believe “If you fear Obama, you’ll vote for Romney; if you fear God, you won’t.” Because we can thank God that we live in a country where we have the freedom to vote.

The problem is, what’s so different about the Presidential race—we vote all the time for candidates who are not righteous. Very few BORN AGAIN Christians run for public office on any level these days.”

~ ~ ~

No lessor of two evils this time. Both men have increased
abortion and sodomy. Sickening. God can act, I am going
to believe in the “election miracle.”

Please, everyone pray, pray, pray.

No offense, how can “born again” Christians be so holy? Non-Catholic Christians accept “contraception” an intrinsic evil, they wrongly do not consider it a sin (since 1930). It is to God.

A few Protestants are starting to wake up to the evil of Contraception. And to be fair, many, many Catholic in name only contracept.

Demographics, anyone notice...all the grey haired folks
on the street, very few young people.

I see. So, the Green Party is an enviro-wacko party (you didn’t answer my question on that, so I’m just assuming it is), and you support it thinking that will dilute the Democrat vote—if I follow you.

I would never support a communist party in the vain attempt to dilute the idiot vote.

Plus he gets the "support" of people like John Boehner and Chief Justice Roberts which makes it even easier.

Yes, then there's that 'little' area as well with Obama in office. I'll take Mitt Romney any day over the likes of a socialist lying lawbreaker.

As an evangelical Christian, I have to disagree. Unless Jesus comes down and runs for office as the only sinless man, EVERY election among humans will be a choice between the lesser of evils. I believe Romney is the most viable candidate who will appoint Supreme Court Justices that will protect Freedom of Religion and halt the oppression Christians have been experiencing.

If God can use a donkey, He can certainly use a Mormon.

I live in Utah. I can safely cast a ballot for ABO OR ABR.

Romney is gonna take my State regardless of anything I, or any other Freeper might do.

This is the time and place to take a stand.

You're not likely to be addressed as a "bigot" on these threads for one reason, you hold the lightening bolt. That word is reserved for others of us who see mormonism for what it is. "Hater" is another one - there are many more but as I said, you won't be called any of them.

The Mormon side of Romney bespeaks more potential intrigue than the more conventional waffling of Romney. But it’s been fairly much soft pedaled here. I’d like to see some digging into how Romney’s position as a Mormon has, and would, influence his political actions. I am, on the surface, puzzled that Mitt is not an outspoken proponent of clean living, who would be the last rather than the first to endorse any kind of “gay marriage” scheme. But I am under no illusion that the Mormon organization is a Christian church. It’s a worldly thing, with all the faults worldly things are liable to. It could be as banal as that the LDS doesn’t want to buck him because it likes his tithe bucks.

it;s amazing how many on here are having baby tantrums due to the owner of the site not wanting to vote for Romney.

Agreed. It's like watching a horde of hysterically shrieking Monkees fans, all slashing their wrists and sobbing in unison because someone announced over the stadium PA that "Peter Tork is kind of a dork." ;)

Noting as well the ageing of the current Supreme Court Justices and that several will probably be appointed in the next term. I wish we could just hit a button and flip this to Ryan/Romney.

I understand and did read the last paragraph of the initial post of this thread. That is when I learned of what had happened earlier. I was referring to THAT previous conflict/thread, but I do see now what you meant in your posts to me.

We really wouldn’t be able to evaluate the immaturity of the (as some call them, unfairly “Obamabots”) unless something happened like Jim Rob joining the ranks of the clothespin nose voters.

“Please don’t let this election tear us apart everyone, we are all on the same team even if we disagree here and there.”

I am starting to think we hate each other more than our true political enemies.

My prediction was that if we couldn’t unite behind a single conservative candidate in the primary it would mean Romney would be nominated and that it would ultimately fracture the party — maybe permanently. I am very sad to see it come to fruition though.

I see it exactly as you do and I'm not voting for either of the big government, socialist, fascist crooks on either side. I'm leaving that slot blank and voting for people who will serve the people down ticket.

This is the only solution for anyone with principles..Romney is a fraud.
