King Charles’ funeral plans reportedly being updated regularly after cancer diagnosis: ‘He is really very unwell’

King Charles’ health conditions are progressively deteriorating, leading Buckingham Palace officials to keep a regularly updated plan for his impending funeral — preparations for which started the day after Queen Elizabeth was buried, insiders said.

The 75-year-old monarch has remained largely out of the limelight since announcing his cancer prognosis in February to hide his declining condition, with multiple sources telling the Daily Beast the situation is “not good.”

“Of course he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it. Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell. More than they are letting on,” a source described as an old friend of the royal family told the outlet.

King Charles has never revealed what cancer he has been diagnosed with but admitted that it wasn’t prostate cancer, which is one of the most treatable forms of the disease.

The Firm has also been tight-lipped on his medical journey, but well-placed insiders and political commentators have publicly spoken about how the king is “responding really well” to treatment.

Behind the scenes, however, King Charles’ aides are regularly reviewing copies of a several-hundred-page document outlining his royal funeral plans, dubbed “Operation Menai Bridge.”

“The plans have been dusted off and are actively being kept up to date. It’s no more than what you would expect given the king has been diagnosed with cancer. But the circulation of them has certainly focused minds,” a former staffer with links to the serving courtiers told the Daily Beast.

Good news does not sell as well as bad news.

(I think after the first couple of marriages, taking the veil should have been popular among anyone in proximity to this pig; at least as long as that was an option.)

This is so weird. Queen Victoria reigned until the very last breath she took on earth . She did not want to pass the crown down to her son because she did not trust him to run the monarchy with honor. For he was known for his many affairs he had and problems with money etc. anyways when Queen Victoria died bertie took the throne and only lasted a few years as king I believe. And soon after died of a heart attack. Funny how history is repeating itself ….same situation, but different circumstances.

Oh, by the way, Bertie, that was his nickname. was hoping his mother would’ve retired and past the crown to him before her death, but like Charles and Queen Elizabeth she gave up her crown until she took her last breath. Bertie was bitter because his mother held on to the throne for those many years. If I remember correctly, Queen Victoria was 96 when she died. Making Bertie around 50 years old and unhealthy. His partying, gluttony and women caught up with him. I believe he was around 50+ when he died which in our time was considered young. His life style did him in.

You have no idea if anything is ‘repeating’.

The link you post has a slightly misleading title—although no fault of yours. He is the oldest person at the time of his coronation.

Besides QEII and Victoria (who were Queens), George II and George III both were still reigning at an older age-—and Edward VII died at an older age, but after resigning at a younger one.

They actually did skid on the pavement. I finally found some video of the horses colliding with the bus. It was pretty bad video, but you can get the jist of what happened. The four horses were heading away from the photographer and there was a bus parked on the curb, and another bus that had pulled up next to him. There was about 4-5 feet between the two buses, and the four horses tried to "shoot the gap" between the buses. I think the horse named Quaker, who was very badly injured, is the one who slipped and and then hit the pavement. He was not wearing a saddle because he was the "fifth" horse that was being ponied by one of the four riders who were thrown. The white horse named Vida was third and attempted to jump Quaker, collided with the bus and then sort of landed on, rolled over Quaker.

Quaker then got to his feet and just stood there, watching his friends run off. Very unusual behavior for a horse in full-blown panic, which told me he was in shock. He stood there until bystanders went and took his reins, which had looped around his leg. He stood there bleeding onto the street in front of the bus. They also found a horseshoe that had been thrown from one of the horses that went down Fleet Street.

I also found info stating that the whole thing was started by Vida, who is known to be skittish and spooky, and who kicked someone in the head during the coronation. He is the one who smashed into the white van and threw the rider onto the sidewalk median.

This is one of the best news clips I've found, and includes the video taken by the man at the bus stop, who recorded the horses hitting the bus. https://youtu.be/XLvFfN8qlI8?si=ZQxCHSrrMTS_gYyy
