King Charles’ funeral plans reportedly being updated regularly after cancer diagnosis: ‘He is really very unwell’

King Charles’ health conditions are progressively deteriorating, leading Buckingham Palace officials to keep a regularly updated plan for his impending funeral — preparations for which started the day after Queen Elizabeth was buried, insiders said.

The 75-year-old monarch has remained largely out of the limelight since announcing his cancer prognosis in February to hide his declining condition, with multiple sources telling the Daily Beast the situation is “not good.”

“Of course he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it. Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell. More than they are letting on,” a source described as an old friend of the royal family told the outlet.

King Charles has never revealed what cancer he has been diagnosed with but admitted that it wasn’t prostate cancer, which is one of the most treatable forms of the disease.

The Firm has also been tight-lipped on his medical journey, but well-placed insiders and political commentators have publicly spoken about how the king is “responding really well” to treatment.

Behind the scenes, however, King Charles’ aides are regularly reviewing copies of a several-hundred-page document outlining his royal funeral plans, dubbed “Operation Menai Bridge.”

“The plans have been dusted off and are actively being kept up to date. It’s no more than what you would expect given the king has been diagnosed with cancer. But the circulation of them has certainly focused minds,” a former staffer with links to the serving courtiers told the Daily Beast.

Article also says this funeral prep is SOP, and that he is responding very well to treatment. He may be feeling horrible, but chemo therapy itself is often nasty.

Just a guess. Chemo seems likely since no public appearances were made after Charles and Kate disappeared for a few months. Chemo can knock the stuffing out of person with advanced cancer.

Some Freepers think they’re on a mission to tell the Brits how to live.

He looks rough for 75. My dad is 85, looks like he is 60. I’m 53 and I get carded.

Well Kate is not part of that hereditary line. Her parents are still alive so that’s good.

I’ve never noticed that they looked ‘old’, unless they actually were; and even then, they have interesting faces full of character.

You should hope that you look as good in old age as people like Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Cary Grant, Laurence Olivier, etc., have looked.

William has an opportunity to be more like his grandmother and less like his dad. When the day comes, I hope he takes that route.

QE2 was a true believer in Jesus Christ and though she had some stumbles along the way, her heart was with Christendom. Charles is not—and the UK is suffering because his mindset has taken hold in the society.

I guess brits don’t age well.

King Charles' mother and father lived well into their 90s. Ditto for his grandmother, The Queen Mother.

This trend of turbo cancer being on the rise only started in the last year or so. Hmm...

I know he was seeking an annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon, but I think people commonly spoke of it as a divorce. He decided that Anne of Cleves was not as good-looking as her portrait but I don’t know if they had ever consummated the marriage. Who was the third?

Did Churchill have any royal ancestry? His mother was an American.

He was a descendant of Marlborough, a famous general around 1700, whose sister had been a mistress of King James II.

“The king has said he eats a heavily plant-focused diet...”

Yeah. That will cut you short!

His “exercise plan” consists of Stretching, very mild sit-ups, back extensions, pushup from the knees and running in place. He’s finished in 11 minutes....

“I was wondering what they had on for hoof covering”

Metal shoes. One shoe came off during the running. Surprised they weren’t hurt worse.
