Antique SKS rifle used by Dallas Killer (No Ar-15 used)

Initial reports from Dallas described multiple snipers with AR-15s #weaponsofwar. The ongoing propaganda theme among the tabloids is that the AR-15 has become the weapon of choice for terrorists and mass shooters. It turns out that the terrorist in Dallas question used an antique, the SKS, (according to CBS News) but the facts never keep the press from a good propaganda theme.

The SKS was designed in the 40’s in Russia. It is such a basic rifle that it is legal in California with no modification. With its fixed ten round magazine, the SKS is everything that the gun haters in California say a rifle must be. It is not black, no pistol grip, no flash hider or folding stock. It even shoots a intermediate power cartridge, 7.63 X 39. It is used as a cheap hunting gun across the US. I am sure that at this moment, some law maker in California is writing new legislation to close the mad man with an antique rifle loophole.

The only reason I post this is in the hope that if police forces are not training for it and FBI not planning for it, they'll read this and start:

The perfect ISIS attack:

A dozen battle hardened and trained, committed Jihadis separately travel to the US via established border routes. Aided, perhaps, by the Mexican gangs that control the border.

Each with $10k cash, fake ID and a predesignated rendezvous.

At least 6 will make it.

They can then purchase good weapons and optics in the US from illegal sources.

Keeping their eyes on the internet they looked for large, planned protests that happen on short notice and again rendezvous, this time with weapons and ammo.

6 trained, experienced men with AR's and adequate ammo could defeat most police forces and may even escape.

A couple of hundred cops with pistols, 1,000 protesters could all be killed.

Cops that survive and get to acquire their carbine will be VERY cautious in pursuit.

New protocol MUST be to surround the cops that are surrounding the protesters with trained, well-armed tactical teams.

That is the lesson of Dallas and I hope everyone is paying attention.

An article yesterday quoted a friend of the POS who said he was a lousy shot. And I recall Thurs. night/Fri. morning reports of a lot of bullets ricocheting off the concrete.

He had a white mother & black father who had a nice home and middle class life. Not sure what he had to kick about, Now he’s now a dead POS. It’s too bad we can’t blow him up again.

Can he be taken out and blown up again?

I am not trying to imply he served with Seal Team 6. I am just saying that going through boot camp alone gives you some knowledge that your average civvy mass shooter in the street doesn’t have. That is all I meant. His service gave him the awareness to buy a book on moving and shooting. All I ever did was play paint ball which showed me that moving is better than not moving when people are hunting you.

That is all I meant. Basic alone would give an intelligent person enough to learn more and be more savvy than your average “I’m going to work to kill my ex and her boss” type mass shooter.

RE:Imagine the damage that could be done with the antique battle rifle known as the M-1 Garand.

“In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.” - Gen. Patton

You are correct the M1 is one of the finest full Battle Rifle ever made. The M1 is a Battle Rifle a REAL battle rifle and not a light weight “assault rifle”. Any gun show in the country will have surplus black tip 30-06 AP ammo that will pierce ANY civilian and police body armor available. even an extremity hit with a 30-06 can and probably is fetal you can bleed out in min from a large caliber wound. I would go to war any day with M1 and modern optics over a semi AR15 and all the barbie toy addons that one can put on it. The M1 in skilled hands can be absolutely lethal at 600+ yards everyday.

He was contained was he not? What was the hurry? Wait him out. Sometimes it takes days.

I can answer that. The suspect had an obviously very defensible elevated position. A killing platform. The suspect had already shot nearly a dozen cops killing almost half of them.

Begs the question: How long would you be willing to allow this person to sit up there on his lofty perch?

8 yrs of the pRESIDENT and AGs telling black Americans that Whitey has his boot on their neck, that all Whites are racist as is the criminal justice and educational systems. That America was built on slavery and Whitey stole all of their wealth. That Whitey didn't build what he has or worked hard for it.

No mention of personal responsibility, stay in school, don't commit crimes, learn a trade, don't breed like animals...

Can someone ask Janet Napolitano if she considers this veteran a terrorist, one that she would have included on her list?

The 30.06 has more energy at 600yds than the .223 at the muzzle. It shoots through cars and walls, accurately.

I doubt it. More likely he's an employee of the U.S. Government as are most Black Panthers since November 4, 2008

/snip - Judging from the audio I heard, the Dallas shooter seemed to shoot a lot of rounds per victim. Did he need a lot of rounds because he did not hit his victim on the first round? Did he shoot his victims multiple times (maybe out of anger)? My impression is, he ambushed people so he was methodical in that sense, but then he shot rather wildly - not like a real marksman. I am sorry to sound so clinical about this horrible event. Maybe someone who knows what they are talking about could comment. It seems like every time a terrorist uses a rifle at more than point-blank range, the media and politicians call him a sniper and almost praise his skills./——

His MOS in the Army was carpentry and masonry and his awards list omitted any shooting or marksman badge awards from the Army, only the normal Army participation awards. Praising him as a sniper when video shows close range shots and as reported 4 out of the 5 dead were shot in the back is a bit of a stretch. IMO

Of course the BLM Dallas event was a terrorist act, regardless of what the corrupt in D.C. call it. If this had been a Muslim with ISIS connections, same exact thing, a terrorist attack.

Russian SKS and AK47’s are just pretty cool firearms. Not quite the accuracy of the AR platform, but hey, at a 100-200yrds, they’z all yewz need.

Wanted something that could take a lickin and keep on tickin. Done lots of research. Rap this Ruskie machine against a tree, dunk it in muddy water, open the breach and toss in a lil dirt....still gonna empty that mag.

Rip an old T-shirt into a strip, tie a few knots along the way, dip-r in motor oil, rip that puppy down the barrel and get along bout your way.

AR....not so much.

Lost’em all in an unfortunate boating accident back in the year of our Lord 19 and 96.
