There are SKS kits that allows it to be used with removable magazines (don’t know if the AK mags are used). Was that the case?

Well, well well, when will this be reported in the major media aka the propaganda arm of the Democrat party?

The SKS can be reloaded with stripper clips that make it fairly rapid with practice.

I’ve only seen one SKS rifle before.
I took it from a Viet Cong woman that I shot. (She’s not dead, we slowed her bleeding and got her to an Army hospital in time to save her life.)

This coward was shooting from concealment, he could have done as much damage with a bolt action rifle. No need for rapid reloading as he was hiding.

The shooter was a veteran. That’s likely more than just basic experience with firearms. If you’re good all you need is simple to do lots of damage.

If you went by standard Army tactics....he went by the book, and never needed any major weapon like a AR15 or such. You are correct....simple bolt-action weapon....he’s got enough time through concealment to reload. Cops are using normal cop strategies trying to deal with a character like this. I do admit....using that robot to get to him and get him in the end....was something new and probably will become the newest toy of police organizations.

In other words, another “domestic terrorist profile”: white, Christian, etc., etc., gets blown to shit. There are cultures where clusters this bad require face-saving measures, ahh, forget ....

SKS is semi auto with a fixed magazine. It is sometimes modified to take a removable magazine.

“The SKS can be reloaded with stripper clips that make it fairly rapid with practice.”

Very few people practice using stripper clips anymore. I load my Mosin with stripper clips but it is not easy. He would be fairly close to his victims using the 7.62x39mm.

I’m going to guess he used a Yugo SKS that use those ugly 30 round magazines and possibly the folding polymer after-market stock.

They used to sell for 100.00 bucks around here with a fold up Bayonet, I bought a couple, converted one to a composite stock, nice little shooter .

One of my running buds is a former Marine sniper. Trust me, he could take out a lot of guys from one strategical elevated position. The training turns you into one deadly killing' machine. He was in 8 years and was assigned to protection details on high level people when they passed through his territory.

When I saw the footage of that veteran moving around I told my wife that guy moves like ex-military and when I saw him shoot the cop like he was nothing I knew he'd done combat time. One doesn't move from cover to cover the way he did with armed police so close by. He'd done this before. I wonder if any calls had been placed by anyone in the current administration to any of the New Black Panther's members before this went down...

Was with a friend who bought one in Cali in the 90s at a Sacramento Gun Show.
Soviet issue in the original box and wrappings, with the spike bayonet.
Funny thing, no waiting period. You could not buy a 22 pistol without a 10 day wait, but this was cash and carry.
As He was leaving with it a Cop stopped him “hey, where you going with that?”. His partner corrected him, “ it’s legal, considered an antique, no waiting period”. The other Cop was just shaking his head.

I don't know if it was Boston Dynamics that supplied it. I was at an open house with my grandson at the local airfield a couple of years ago, and Boston Dynamics was there with some of their military hardware. They let the kids take turns driving a remote control military robot. The guys showing it off were obviously engineers.

They had some models on display, with machine guns and sensors, which had been used in Iraq. One model looked like a small remote control turretless tank. It had sensors but no weapons, weighed about 25 pounds (10 kg). The engineer told me the Marines used them in Iraq. In one incident, the Marines were on the ground floor a building, with "insurgents" on the second floor. They tossed the minirobot satchel-style in a window, to get a look-see where the terrorists were. The terrorists jumped out the windows, into the field of fire of the grateful Marines. I love that story.

I had a SKS with a removable 30 round mag. CA made it illegal in the 90’s and actually had a buy back program. They paid me $230. I paid $95 for it.
