Michio Kaku has made a name for himself as a world-leading theoretical physicist unafraid to speak his mind.
Kaku, the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in theoretical physics at the City College of New York, has published more than 70 articles in physics journals on topics such as supersymmetry, superstring theory, supergravity, and hadronic physics.
His latest claim is likely to make waves in the world of science.
I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence, Kaku says in a video produced by Big Think. To me it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.
Big Think, a media site launched in 2007, has been described as YouTube for ideas. But its actually more like TED.
You can watch the video and see for yourself why Kaku believes science points to an intelligent creator who formed the universe. (Im certainly not going to try to explain it.)
Reasoning aside, Kakus conclusion is pretty is clear.
The final solution resolution could be that God is a mathematician, says Kaku. The mind of God, we believe, is cosmic music. The music of strings resonating through 11-dimensional hyperspace.
Gee who’da thunk?
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
“Michio Kaku”
Famous? I never heard of this person before.
I think this is great. So many of modern day astrophysicists believe in a godless universe. Hawking is so smart he doesn’t see a need for a creator. We may all differ on how God created the universe but you have to realize there is an intelligence behind it!
I miss his radio show. My son called into it a couple times.
He’s pretty famous. If you see his photo you may realize you have seen him if you watch any Discovery Channel or Science Channel documentaries.
He’s on the “famous” level of Neil Degrasse Tyson, or Alex Fillipenko, I’d say.
It does not follow from Intelligent Design that the god of ID is the God of the Hebrew & Christian Bible.
One can support ID and be an atheist.
And, further, one can recognize and believe in God, but not follow God.
Those of us who are Christian can’t get but so excited about proofs for Intelligent Design.
>>This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.<<
Wait until He replaces it with something even more inexplicable.
Unless He already has.
Might be that you do not hang out in scientific, physics, or astronomy circles. I have known of this brilliant man for a couple of decades and am surprised to hear his say such things. I respect his intellect but am astounded that he espouses things that normal folk call "faith".
>>I miss his radio show. My son called into it a couple times.<<
God has a radio show? That is Rush you are thinking of!
Notice that as the struts get closer to the dragonfly's body, they get thicker to enable movement without breaking.
“For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountain of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”

Professor Kaku is very, very well known for his abilities at popularizing and explaining science to the laity.
(you can if you wish see many of his talks on youtube, also, FYI)
true. true, and true.
but Intelligent Design is an important First Step for a person, nonetheless..
and is therefore to be applauded, imho.
Best,
He didn’t say, “G-d,” per se, but I’ll go with that.

LOL. No, Kaku did. He probably still has the show.
He’s a smart dude even if he does believe in string theory.
Watch the Torbo Tax commercial where he explains “Zero”.
The more we know about how the universe works, the fewer people believe that it was all created by chance.
