It may sound crazy now but it's very possible Trump will pick Cruz as VP [vanity]

Posted on 02/16/2016 7:04:51 PM PST by springwater13

At the end of the day, it's about business. Trump doesn't have the organization Cruz does and won't want to spend the money to build it from scratch. Picking Cruz as Veep allows him to get his organization "wholesale" out of "bankruptcy" at a price that can't be beat "free."

Donald's not stupid. He'll make the deal if Cruz is agreeable to it and they can figure out a working partnership.

You are VERY wrong about this, Ohio WILL go Trump, Florida WILL go Trump Ohio because this is exactly the type of state that IS Trumps platform, Florida because Trump is VERY weep known in Florida he employs ALOT of people there, there are ALOT of retired folks there who remember how this country used to be before ALL of the PC crap and freedoms were stolen from us!!! He speaks their language!!!! He is also in their age group!!! He is a little overbearing and obnoxious but they are from a time when folks just spoke their minds and were honest!!! I DO NOT BELIEVE Trump will NEED any political finagling to carry MOST states! Some will be impossible but most of them he is singing their language!!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!

Trump doesn’t care about that. He cares about results. If Cruz could get him victory, he will pick Cruz. Trump often talk about how he will pick tough, nasty ppl, ppl you don’t want at your party to negotiate for US. Whatever it takes for victory

McKinley picked Roosevelt, who was the most nakedly ambitious, shamelessly publicity seeking politician of his day. People forget what an obstreperous fellow he was, and how many enemies he had in the party. With modern media he could have been very Trump -like, though much more erudite. And a better shot.
Trump is an old man, the office is a killer, and energetic though he is, I don’t see him doing eight years.
Kasich may bring Ohio, maybe, but he’s a lousy campaigner.
In most of the country he’s that other guy, whatsisname.

(Maybe this guy Carl Icahn? Trump mentions him at every stump speech) Donald Trump does not run or control Trump Entertainment Resorts, which was formed after the Trump casino empire emerged from the second of its three bankruptcies. But he retains a 10 percent stake in it. He is particularly sensitive to any negative associations of his name with Atlantic City. He has repeatedly said he has had no involvement for at least six years with the casinos that bear his name. Icahn is acquiring Trump Entertainment by swapping its debt that he owns in return for ownership of the company. http://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-and-carl-icahn-just-struck-a-deal-to-keep-trumps-name-in-atlantic-city-2015-3

Trump did want Cruz im sure.. that’s why they both played so nice with each other for so long

And Trump has set up two thing that makes me think he still does...

on the birth thing..Trump.has really been telling Cruz...”Take care of it.. your a lawyer if your sure you are eligible then take care of it and get it all set up so nobody can questions it...cover your flanks... cover your vulnerabilities .. site the law”...

no smart business man is going to go into partnership with a guy that’s got legal liabilities or even legal questions that could hurt the success of the joint deal... trump to cruz...its cross your t’s and dot your i’s time if you do we can make a deal if you don’t I have to take you out

the other is Trump did pull his attack ads back for a while

So the VP would be immune to special interest pressure the same as Donald Trump is. Don’t want a Trojan horse as VP.

but trump surrendered to the ethanol special interests so having wealth doesn’t mean special interests won’t have influence.
also trump’s business will still be operating so that will influence trump.

If neither gets the necessary delegates to make the nomination, but together they have them (which is an outcome that could easily happen)...then it is VERY possible, even likely.

Trump puts Cruz on the ticket as VP and Cruz has his delegates vote for Trump. Trump becomes the nominee.

I personally believe, despite all the rancor, that this may have been the plan all along.

IOW, all the rancor may be these two very smart men playing the MSM and the GOPe all along.

If Trump wins the nomination, it would be his best move.

I am 100000% sure that Trump will never choose Cruz as veep. I doubt if he’ll pick and professional politician. Especially none of the other candidates.

Trump would never choose Cruz. Ever.

Cruz wouldn’t pick Trump either so it’s a wash.

Why is it that people think a nominee has to select one of his campaign adversaries? A smart choice would be someone who would work well with the nominee. We are building an effective working group, not a panel of political celebrities.

Trump values honesty and loyalty. Anyone who stabs him the back or is dishonest, he does not forget that.

Cruz has proved he doesn't have integrity.

Thanks for reminding me about you.

Cruz to supreme ct - best choice ever; but he can be confirmed only if they suspend the filibuster for him.

“MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!”

Very nice slogan if only the candidate that was using it was truly a conservative! Anyone who has nice things to say about Hillary and how successful and qualified she is seems to be very two faced to me and lacks true honesty about his true beliefs!

You’re right about Martinez. She would be a decent pick.
