3 Questions for Freepers-especially the "old timers"

Been here since 98, which is why I don't toss out the "I've been here longer so shut up" tactic that sadly has reared its head a lot lately. When I try it- some class of 97 guy kicks my arse and calls me noob. (yeah, old joke but I laugh)

Been lurking more than posting lately but wonder where we all stand on things in this race and on Free Republic.

1. Betweeen Cruz, Rubio, and Trump only...please list in order of preference if they were your only choices for president.

2. Are the current flame wars on Free Republic the same we always see during a presidential primary season or worse?

3. Of these 5 issues only: Abortion, Homosexual Marriage, Illegal immigration, Muslim refugees, Obamacare... please list in order of most important to stop to least important. (Least important in no way means "not important". Even if an issue is #5 on THIS list, its may still be #5 out of 100 issues for you. Im just comparing to these other 4 for perspective.)

My first post at FR was in 2002 I believe but I began lurking and reading during Whitewater investigation in 90s. (Don't remember which year I found the site)

Dissatisfied with the operation of the Prodigy bulletin board, and similar sites, I decided to start my own "bulletin-board" Internet-type site to encourage the free expression of ideas -- particularly in connection with President Clinton's then past and present activities. I wanted to be able to reach a wider audience than did the Prodigy bulletin board and encourage more free discussion. Thus, in September of 1996, while still a consultant for ProtoSource, I started Free Republic.

36. I began looking for suitable "forum" software. I located a couple packages and tried them out, but was not happy with the formats. I decided to write my own.

37. It took me a couple of months to write and test the software. I developed and tested version one on ProtoSources' computer. I developed and tested later revisions on our Electronic Orchard computer before installing on freerepublic.com or other sites open to the public.

38. I "cross-posted" (showing a link to freerepublic.com) articles to Prodigy, several USENET groups, and a couple other forums on the internet -- the names of which I no longer remember. On all articles I posted, I included the URL of the new freerepublic.com forum and within a few months people began visiting the Free Republic site.

I think I first saw one of Rodger's articles, before Google worked so hard to limit linking access to FR. :)

That's great and all, but I noticed on THIS thread, while you bothered to interject your opinion on the above for the edification of all, you never DID bother to respond to this poster's earnest questions. Why?

My opinion(s) on these matters are no great FR secret. I',m biding my time, reading the thread, as I usually do.

It's an old, old habit. :)

2. I’m not sure. I signed up (I think) in 2012. I thought the Santorum supporters (I backed Newt) were rowdy, but these Cruz folks are at least a little worse. (Hated it then, hate it now- shrug)

3. 0bamacare, Illegal immigration, Muslim ‘’refugees’’, Abortion, Same sex marriage- if at all.

There are probably at least half a dozen things I would prioritize over that (reducing the size & scope of gov’t, elections integrity, antitrust, dealing with corruption in gov’t- esp F&F, Benghazi, etc- no more ‘’Let’s move on. . .’’- etc.
Welfare reform wrt to employment/ drug testing, getting the fed gov’t out of education, law & order . . . I could go on & on.)

I don’t care what 2 consenting adults- homo or hetero, do *in private*- as long as they do it IN PRIVATE. It doesn’t affect me or how I live my life.
Schools should BUTT OUT of ‘’sex education’’, period. and EVERYONE should retain the right to refuse service to anyone they choose, for any reason they choose.
