Terrified neighbours phoned the police after hearing a woman screaming hysterically and a man yelling: “I’m going to kill you”.

But when officers arrived at the address they discovered the flat's sole occupant had been trying to catch a SPIDER .

The shamefaced man admitted he had been shouting death threats at the arachnid and had been the person behind the high pitched screaming.

According to New South Wales police in Australia, they received multiple calls about the sound of crashing furniture and a man screaming: “I’m going to kill you, you're dead! Die Die!!”.

Well, it is Australia after all...

probably has killer laser eyes and two step venom, hovers like a quad-copter, and eats dingos and babies for breakfast...Shelob's baby.

Were they screams of profanity and frustration, or were they screams while jumping on furniture to evade the clutches of the vile arachnid?

The former might be excusable, although I'd say the chap needs to get out more and socialize a little.

The latter? Cut up the man-card.

“I’ve read that Napoleon Bonaparte, who conquered much of Europe, was afraid of cats.”

Many people are deathly afraid of cats. Now, I myself love cats (I’m rather afraid of dogs, esp. if they are big and I don’t know them personally) but you see those glowing eyes in the dark and sometimes yeah, I really get why people would be afraid of them.

Plus, cats have that total disregard for you in their souls. I remember being in the Central Park (NYC) zoo and looking at tiger. That cat was looking at me and strongly conveying: if there weren’t bars between me and you I’d kill you and eat you no problem!

I was thinking about PTSD, don’t have it, but the stigma could be lessened if related to your worst fears. Whatever that is, imagine facing it many times during the day, sometimes all day, and then having repeated nightmares at night. Would you want to sleep? Wouldn’t you be hypervigilant? Now imagine that that fear is an IED or an intersection, or a stranger.

For those of you afraid of spiders (I just hate them in my house but take pictures of the big ones outside), check out the pics of camel spiders.

I have spiders all over my house.

Some of them habitually fall into the sink and I pick them out, dry them off and put them back on the windowsill.

A couple years ago, we took the trailer to haul a bike home and as we took off the ramps, I saw a jumping spider panic and fall to the ground.

Her sac of eggs was on the underside of the ramp.

I picked her up, put her in an empty aspirin bottle and brought her back home so I could replace her on her nest once we were done with the ramps.

They will not harm you unless you hurt them first.

There is never a need to kill any thing, just because you fear it.

They value their lives, too.

That’s the rational mind. Phobias are utterly different and don’t care what you know. A phobia is sheer terror at something that you know you shouldn’t be afraid of.

I’m a huge animal person (yes, I eat meat and wear leather) and I once had a really pleasant encounter with a mountain lion (contained). Next time you bump into your tiger, give him squinty-eyes and a slight, occasional upward-nod. Be persistent, and wait until others wander away and it’s just you and him. To cats, that’s a friendly thing. My mountain lion responded in kind.

I wouldn’t get in his enclosure because the mind of a wild animal is still wild, but it was more than I was expecting.

My wife will call me to dispose of spiders. I always scoop them up and throw them outside.

Earlier this year she discovered a black widow, (with egg sack), outside in the yard.

I scooped it up, (egg sack too), and placed it in a field by our house.

Over the years we have found several black widows in the yard. I have a picture of one of them somewhere on the computer.
