MILWAUKEE Shortly before sunrise, police said a stolen van smashed through the doors of the Bouchards Sporting Goods store near North Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.
The burglars were unaware the owner was sleeping inside. Police said he greeted them with gunfire.
A short time after the shooting, three guys showed up at the emergency room at Columbia St. Mary's. One of them had been shot multiple times. Police arrested all three of them.

North Street is likely part of the bad parts of MKE and MLK Blvd is a designated no go at
night zone everywhere.

Good news for a change. Yes it is, but I am thinking he needs a larger caliber weapon.

No description of the burglars, but it being Milwaukee and occurring on MLK, I can guess.
The real indicator is the reporter’s refusal to ID the perps.

North Avenue, up towards the Lake was fairly nice when I lived a few blocks away in the Seventies. Not sure what street they renamed MLK. Gotta look at a map,,,,,,,

They tried to re-name University Avenue when all the changes were being made. Larger community as well as the University complained...loudly.
This is the current DO NOT TRAVEL AT NIGHT area in town.
You are so correct!

Perhaps he should have opted for a 12 gauge with 000 buckshot.

The store owner was “lying in wait.”
Good on him, I say, but I’ve heard those words said with a negative implication, too.

Yeah. It’s West of the river bridge. It was considered to be in the “core” in the Seventies. “Core” meant ghetto.

OMG — just wait until the courts decide this was a form of “entrapment” like that poor man who went to jail because he shot a teenage burglarizing his garage.

"Perhaps he should have opted for a 12 gauge with 000 buckshot."
As soon as I read the story I figured he was probably using a shotgun with birdshot or may a .22. You're right, load that scattergun with double ought so they don't shoot back.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
It’s a shame his weapon of choice wasn’t an AR in a larger caliber.....say 308.
