I was followed all the way home through two towns and the County Sheriff. They had a car waiting there with dogs to check for drugs. I said no, and explained why I was there. I got a stern or even threatening speech about the danger there...then they checked with the man I delivered the food to...and left. They have never arrested the drug dealer!
What was an old woman with a white sports car doing next door to a drug dealer??? Helping the sick and poor?
I do make an effort to go earlier in the day now.
No 3rd is. 16th is over by the Marquette campus. Farther south 3rd is named "Old World 3rd St" past Usinger's.
A few years back the blacks complained that all of 3rd st should be named MLK. Didn't fly with the few tourist operations left in the city.

He wasn’t lying in wait UNLESS he knew he was going to be hit, and that he was going to be hit by someone specific.
In that case, it helps to call the police and say, “I have it on good authority I’m going to be robbed tonight.”
Depending on what the police say, the owner deciding to sleep inside his own store, armed, is well within the castle doctrine.
If the police decided to sit on the store, saw the crime go down, catch the perps, AND THEN the owner comes out and shoots them, then you are lying in wait.
A guy in Washington State slept in his little shop after a few breaks ins. One night he hears the glass break, gets up and heads to the front with his shotgun. The kid had a handful of belts and buckles (western shop) and took off on his bike.
The guy shot and killed him from a hundred feet as he rode away. The kid was 16 or 17 or something. No charges were filed.
As liberal as Washington state is, the use of deadly force according to state law is pretty lenient. Although recently I have read on FR that there are some Supreme Court rulings that could prove to be troublesome. Although that shooting I discussed was only a couple years ago.

I’m glad he took precautions, whether they were special or not. I was noting that there will be no shortage of those who will sympathize with the robber and find fault with the storeowner—the victim here—for being prepared. They will characterize his being vigilant and guarding his property as “lying in wait”, looking for trouble, waiting to kill, etc, etc.
Old 3rd World third Street is just that Usingers, Maders and some spice shop. than comes 6th Street MATC is on that area State Street to Vliet St. Than comes the Old Pabst Brewery. Than comes 12th Street with the Old welfare Building the Grocery Store and all the furniture stores for the welfare recipients to buy furniture. The MLK Center is on what would 16th and Vliet.
Marquette University is 16th Wisconsin 16h wells all the way down to what used to be the YMCA 9th Street (now it is Marquette University Housing). Marquete University now stretches all the way to 27th Street on Wisconsin Ave,the old Children’s Hospital is now part of Marquette University many of the old hotels are part of Marquette too. From about 22ND and wells to what was Concordia University (Concordia is now out in Mequon alongside I-43)is now known for the mentally ill reside in that area. deaconess hospital was torn down years ago.
Need to change all these MLK named places. Seems like they draw crime.
