I have noticed that there seems to be more and more posters on FR that have accounts from the 1990's or early 2000's, that are posting a lot more frequently.
I can't be the only one that has noticed this.
Maybe it was Ted Cruz, I don't know, but I'd like to know that I'm not alone here.
It seems that Ted Cruz is beinging many outside of Free Republic to join forces and here at Free Republic.
Saw 4 years ago many who wanted their guy and much splintering.
Not so now with Ted Cruz announcing that he’s running for President.
Had a person who is middle of the road or who is a traditional Democrat tell me today that he would vote for Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin as VP.
Ted Cruz is striking accord and voice with the Independents were I live so far.
Romney/bushbots have been quiet lately.

Yup. It's when the "concern trolls" come out of the woodwork, too.
I first signed up in 2000 but changed my handle.
I’m not exactly sure what year I found FR, but I remember that around the time Slick Willy defeated G.H.W. Bush, (1992)? FR was one of the main things, after my faith in Jesus, that helped me keep my faith in America and a fair amount of my sanity. I don’t ever want to be without FR. I get my news here DAYS before the dead tree media even is aware of what happened.
Lot of occasional posters showing up to tell us of their “concerns” about Ted Cruz.
Typo correction, Ted Cruz is brining those outside FR together and here at FR together.
I’m always around here, particularly when the weather is bad, so I really didn’t notice.
But I will say — I haven’t been this excited about a presidential election in years. So you probably won’t be able to get rid of me for now.
I’ve thought it was a whole lot slower recently ... :-) ...
As for me, I go for a while and then fade away and come back again ... :-) ...
Don’t forget, there were trolls signing up back then too.
Some of the newer accounts seem to have liberal tendencies I’ve noticed tho..,
The leftist troll response to Cruz will be large, if not unprededented.

I’m one of those new accounts. I stumbled onto Free Republic around the time of the Chick-fil-a buycott. I then lurked until I finally got the courage to sign-up in May of 2014. Free Republic has given me one heck of an education, for which I am thankful to JimRob for creating this wonderful website.
Maybe you’re seeing the activation of government troll accounts?

I don’t generally check the born on date because they are usually names I recognize.
But in the last week or so, I have seen so many names that are unfamiliar.
