MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WMBF) - A Lowcountry woman got quite the surprise when her Boston Terrier began nursing orphan kittens.
Shannon Williams said her daughter found the litter of kittens in the woods behind their home in Mount Pleasant. After bringing the litter inside, Memory, her 5-year-old Boston Terrier, began nurturing and cuddling with the days-old kittens.
We laid the kittens on a dog bed, and [Memory] cuddled with them, Williams recalled.
Meanwhile, Williams went to the pet supply store for milk replacement. She said she didn't need the supplement long, One week later, [Memory's] milk came in.
Memory had never been pregnant or had pups before, yet she nursed the four felines for nearly two months, Williams said.
She's nursing them, cleaning them, carrying them around, everything, Williams posted to Facebook regarding Memory's maternal instinct.

Nice story.
Big Boston Terrier fan here. Anyone considering a dog needs to consider a Boston first.

I’ve long thought that cats and dogs have special spirits given to them by God. Stories like this prove it.

We tried that once. We placed a rejected kitten with a nursing Border Collie and her pups. It ended very swiftly.
Lucky kittehs in this case!

I found a litter abandoned in the milk house last summer... and had to bottle feed them like 8 times a day... what a chore... the best though was what I was never told before... that you have to stimulate little kitties to make them pee and poop... that got to be REALLY a chore. A little over 6 months later, I have 2 best friends I would be lost without. I am shore glad that they picked me to be their hooman.

Have owned Bostons exclusively since 1973 . Got my first when still in the States on LI . Bought next here in Japan in 1996 - a female - whom we bred , producing 3 pups . Sold female pup to my wife’s bro-in-law in Osaka , and kept 2 males along Mom . Mom outlived her 2 sons , and when she died we swore we’d not get get another ...Famous last words ...4 year old Milo is downstairs as I write , resting in close proximity to the kerosene fan heater in the living room . ^_^
