Redneck Road Rage / Instant Karma [video]
YouTube.com ^ | 3-26-2014 | Florida Driver

Posted on 03/28/2014 7:22:34 AM PDT by servo1969

This happened to me on SR 41 in Tampa on Monday March 24th. This pathetic excuse for a human being tailgated me for about three minutes. After about a minute, and me shaking my head, I pulled out my phone and started recording. I couldn't move over because there were trucks in the right lane, and I sure as heck wasn't going to speed on a rainy day with the roads being as slick as they were. I was turning left in about a half-mile when this happened. Now bear in mind, that this guy had already passed a truck in a left turn lane, was tailgating and driving recklessly on a wet slick road, wasn't paying attention, and all in all being an ignorant ass. Not once was I mouthing off, I never brake checked him, and in fact until I watched the video after the accident I didn't even know he shot a bird at me because I wasn't looking at him at all, I was paying attention to the road while holding the phone up with my right hand. I've recorded circumstances like this before, catching idiots doing stupid things, but never ever had this happen.

He initially fled the scene of the accident, but thanks to this video he has been caught and charged. Massive props to the Sheriffs Department and most especially the Highway Patrol who responded to the scene. This moron could have easily killed somebody with his moronic behavior, and my laughing at the end would have been replaced with tears. Needless to say though, I've never seen Karma come back so fast.

*****EDITED TO ADD******

WOW! I go to work and come back to over 600,000 views and find it's on theblaze.com and various other media sites. I'm flabbergasted! (love for an excuse to use that word). I'm also a little saddened and shocked at some of the comments. After the umpteenth death threat and billionth time being called a b!#$h/c$%t/whore/slut/add whatever epithet you want... I am extremely amazed at how rude people are.

Apparently people seem to think that they were right there and know exactly what was going on. You weren't there. You don't know what happened other than the truth that I told. And apparently I did get a comment of someone who he had done this same thing to... thank you for that.

I appreciate the comments of those that, even if they disagreed with me, they didn't resort to bullyish behavior, they stated their response and I respect that. To those that wished death upon me, I truly hope your life isn't as miserable as you portray online. Because some of those comments belong to people that belong in a psycho ward, or at the very least, anger management/therapy. They were rude, uncalled for, and just downright mean.

So because of those hateful warmongers, I have disabled all commenting on this video. Have fun talking about me in your forums, and on Reddit, or wherever else you talk smack on. Just know... I won't be there. I think my ears are itching... somebody must be talking about me. Where's my Q-Tip?

Goodbye and have an awesome and amazing rest of your day. I'm gonna go pet my dog, feed my fish, watch some TV, and sit my "fat" self on my sofa ;)

It doesn’t make any difference if she provoked him or not.

Yes, it does. Contributory negligence, unsafe movement, there are any number of charges.

We got tired of sanctimonious drivers like you, and passed laws.

I didn't say that I stayed in the left lane. I've been tailgated while passing by those who insist the speed limit is whatever it takes to get on the ass of the car ahead.

“The rule of the road is slower traffic keep right.”

Indeed that’s true. Neither the stupid tailgater nor the videographer qualified as slower traffic. They were both going over the sped limit.

I don’t think you are rational enough to have a discussion.

Nor do I think you know how to drive well enough if you don’t understand that if you want to speed, it is on you to make your way safely and not whine for other cars going over the speed limit themselves to make your way for you.

The guy who crashed obviously wasn’t in a hurry either.

Do you think its OK to drive in the left hand, passing lane, holding up traffic?

These people are more dangerous, in a Mr Magoo kind of way, than those trying to get to where they are going.

If you are not passing, you should not be in the left hand lane. I don’t really care that there are trucks in the right lane.

He was an ass for tailgating. She was a bigger ass for not yielding to faster traffic coming up from behind her in the left lane. She had PLENTY of time to move to the right lane, let him pass and move back to the left lane to make her turn.

The mere fact that she's manipulating a phone camera and driving at the same time in four lane traffic is just as dangerous as his tailgating. Had his truck impacted another vehicle and caused injury or death, she could be held criminally culpable, IMO.

Two dumbasses playing tag on a busy highway is what this adds up to.

I don’t see any reason why she couldn’t have moved over into the right line. The lane was clear for quite a while until she actually passed the flatbed.

If the road conditions were that bad, she had no business worrying about making a video with her iPhone.

Two assholes had an encounter. One won, and the other lost.

Karma will come back and bite her in the ass if she keeps up with these YouBoob stunts.

“Slower” is a relative term, in relation to other traffic. She was going slower than the vehicle overtaking her and the law requires that she move over to allow safe passing on the left as the highway was designed. No mention of the speed at which either of the vehicles are traveling.

What do you mean passing lane? Thats a stupid concept.

If the car is going over the speed limit, it can be in the left lane.

Drive past it if you want to sped even more.

That’s what a driver does.

Learn to drive like a man.

Slower as a relative term stops at the speed limit.

Why is he such a pansy driver that he can’t go past?

Does no one know how to drive?

The law here in CO and a lot of other states is that you are required to move to the right, except during passing, to allow the car behind to pass, no matter how fast you are going, even over the posted speed.

Obviously the woman you are defending doesn’t. In many states you get ticketed if you are in the left lane impeding traffic.

“She was going slower than the vehicle overtaking her and the law requires that she move over”

What law?

Utter BS.

And if he can’t pass her, how can she go to the right lane?

It’s the same situation.

It proves the truck tailgater simply doesn’t know to take care of himself on the road and his pathetic spin out proved it.

I drive that road frequently. Its 55 there. You get plenty of left lane campers.

Thanks!....see comment 34

I’ve driven 15 miles over the speed limit and had to move to the right to get out of the way of drivers who want to go faster. It’s insane out there.

On one particular stretch of highway, 10-15 years ago, there was an incident that involved the police shooting into a van they pulled over, allegedly for doing 70 in a 55 mph speed limit. I did not believe that story. I drove that road to work every day, and at 70 mph, I was driving slow compared to the other drivers. The others were doing 80 or 90 easily. (Since then the speed limit there has been raised.)

"I simply do not agree with all the “get out of way way because I want to speed “ types, although I do NOT routinely drive in the left lane."

You're practicing very selective reading comprehension. I didn't say I want left-lane blockers out of the way so I can speed; I said I want them out of the way so I can PASS if someone in the right lane is poking along below the speed limit.

That is the function and purpose of the left lane, and it doesn't matter whether you agree or not.

"I am tired of their attitude and if that includes you,so be it."

Too bad. If you're blocking the left lane, you're breaking the law. I think driving at very high speeds is stupid myself, but I'm nto going to be fool enough to sit in the left lane and try to force others to slow down. I get in the right lane and let them go on. I'm pretty tired myself of nannies and cell phone yappers who think they have a right to back traffic up for three miles because, dang it, they have a lesson to teach!

"Not every law is just. We each have our own list of those we believe are not."

So do you think it's okay to break other "unjust" laws? How about illegal immigration? A lot of leftwingers and Mexicans think that's a pretty unjust law and see no problem with breaking it.

If you want the law changed, work to do so; you have no right to break it because you THINK you should be able to.

"It occurred to me that if the vast majority of people actually discouraged instead of winking at illegal and destructive behaviors then there would be less need for laws, police, courts, and prisons. IF speeding was not winked at,persons driving the posted limit would not be a problem. So new laws punishing people obeying the speed limits in order they not inconvenience other people who routinely break those speed limit laws is an illogical position and response to traffic issues. If the limits are too low then raise them.Encouraging disregard of the basic laws has resulted in only adding ever more laws that complicate life."

You really are king/queen of the broad assumptions. It doesn't matter whether you or I approve or disapprove of speeding. People are going to do it. They do it every day. I see them getting pulled over all the time, which is the risk they run. But that legal consequence is the correct one. It's not up to you to impose your own tight-lipped, "I'll-show-you" punishment.

So we've established that speeding is against the law and has consequences. But so is blocking the PASSING LANE. Unless you can get the law changed, you must hit the accelerator when you get over there or face the legal consequences.

It’s only tailgating if your bumpers are touching

Slower as a relative term stops at the speed limit.

That is not how the law reads and it is not the intent. The intent is to prevent accidents from passing on the right. People do not expect overtaking traffic in the right lane, they expect slower traffic. By design.

Breaking one law due being bullheaded about obeying another is still breaking the law. Move over.

You are claiming someone going over the speed limit will get ticketed for going too slow?

It’s also illegal to tailgate.

This tailgater simply doesn’t know how to drive or take responsibility for himself.

This law, I have no idea what State it is in, seems ludicrous. If the driver in front can move to the right, then the speeder - emphasis on speeding , driving unsafely and breaking the law — can pass on the right.

That is the safest thing to do.

You as a driver take control of the situation and plan out your moves and don’t depend on other drivers to make your way for you.
