  • To Hell With the Naysayers—Hawley Is Right About Big Tech

David French and his fellow peacetime conservatives are at it again, wringing their hands and gnashing their teeth as U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) takes a run at curtailing the immense power of Big Tech. As French channels Neville Chamberlain, the fact is that unless the tech companies are forcefully confronted, now, in the immediate, our self-governing republic will be over in less than a generation and we will be ruled by a tech oligarchy. French and his types sputter that this is outrageous, that government shouldn’t be involved in curtailing the harmful behavior of private companies. First, we would...

Google-owned video platform YouTube took down a video from Project Veritas showing a senior employee at the company appearing to admit that the company plans to interfere in the next presidential election to stop Donald Trump. The video, which is still available on the Project Veritas website featured undercover footage of a top Google employee, Jen Gennai, stating that the company shouldn’t be broken up because only they can prevent the “next Trump situation.” Via the video: Elizabeth Warren is saying we should break up Google. And like, I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make...

VIDEO Poppy Harlow disgraced the profession of journalism by advocating strongly in favor of censorship on YouTube. Of course, she wants a ban on Stephen Crowder's channel and other channels that just so happen to be conservative leaning. You never hear her call for a ban on any leftwing videos, no matter how offensive they might be.

On Monday morning, New Day aired a portion of an interview between CNN Newsroom anchor Poppy Harlow and Google’s CEO Sundar Pinchai. They discussed everything from China to data privacy, but Harlow seemed intent to focus on YouTube’s policies on “hate speech.” After the interview concluded, Harlow then turned attention to the videos conservative YouTube comedian Steven Crowder and host of Louder With Crowder, made about Vox journalist Carlos Maza:

The MercifulServant channel is the top Muslim channel on YouTube. After YouTube announced its latest crackdown on "hate speech," MercifulServant wasted no time in encouraging Muslims to mass-flag channels that are critical of Islam, in order to get them banned. MercifulServant's subscribers replied by flagging David Wood's videos (along with videos by the Apostate Prophet, Abdullah Sameer, and others) and by asking YouTube to deplatform Acts17Apologetics. Will the new campaign of "censorship jihad" be successful? David Wood discusses the issue.

For some weird reason I can't sign in to YouTube via my Chrome Browser. In fact I never have to sign in because it reads my information automatically. However, this time I was prompted to sign in but when I click to sign in, I get an error message. How can I sign in. I can access my YouTube account via IE browser but I rarely use that. I need to sign in via chrome. I can't figure out why I am being blocked when I use Chrome.

Internet researcher Jonas Kaiser said Thursday that YouTube’s latest move to ban extremist content on the platform is “too little, too late.” “When it comes from white supremacists, from Neo-nazis, YouTube in my mind has been doing too little, too late,” Kaiser, a Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society affiliate at Harvard University, told Hill.TV. He urged the platform to be more transparent when it comes to freedom of speech issues. “In general there needs to be more transparency, especially when it comes to thorny issues like First Amendment rights, which I think should be protected at all costs,”...
  • Conservative Principles Do Not Require Us To Roll Over For Big Tech

We are never going to sell people on allegedly conservative principles that end up making conservatives less free. After all, when we sell conservatism, we are selling freedom, in contrast to the perpetual soul-killing tyranny offered by leftist ideology. So, the idea that conservative principles require us to defer to the growing oppression of the left because it is delivered through the medium of allegedly private corporations is nonsense.Don’t want none? Don’t start none. That’s one of my conservative principles. The corporations started it, and now it’s our right – our duty – to finish it.The fussy Bow Tie Boyz...

This week, The New York Times ran a massive piece detailing the supposed radicalization of one Caleb Cain. Cain moved from political liberalism toward self-ascribed “tradcon” status from watching YouTube videos. The New York Times charted this nefarious move by following those videos. The suggestion by the Times was simple: If you watch typical conservative content hosted by people like me, you will eventually end up watching material hosted by alt-right figures. The only solution, presumably, would be for YouTube to downgrade material the Times dislikes. This attitude isn’t only springing from the Times. Axios chief technology correspondent Ina Fried...
  • Vice News: YouTube's Bungled Crowder Crackdown Made Him Stronger

"A week after Steven Crowder’s bullying of a Vox journalist pitted conservative media against Big Tech, it’s official: Crowder has won." That was the very sad news that left-leaning Vice News relayed to its "progressive" readers on Tuesday. The YouTube censorship crackdown on Steven Crowder's Louder With Crowder channel completely backfired. Rather than hurting him via demonetization even though they admitted he violated no YouTube policy, the conclusion of the news site that's having its HBO show cancelled was that it has only made him stronger.
  • VIDEO: Will There Even Be An Official YouTube Rewind 2019?

VIDEO YouTube's Rewind 2018 turned out to be such an incredible disaster that it quickly became that platform's most disliked video of all time. So this year it is expected that YouTube will avoid the mistake of featuring celebrities and concentrate more on YouTubers themselves. However, the problem is if they do that how do they ignore prominent YouTubers such as PewDiePie and Logan Paul who they have very noticeably shunned last year? In addition, the biggest controversy by far this year is the demonetization of Steven Crowder's Louder With Crowder, not for violating any specific policies but because someone...

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki apologized to the LGBT community Monday for how the video-streaming site has handled anti-gay comments. “I know that the decisions we made was very hurtful to the LGBTQ community and that wasn’t our intention at all,” Wojcicki said during a tech industry conference in Arizona, according to USA Today. She was particularly referring to a recent controversy over comments made by conservative commentator Steven Crowder about Vox journalist Carlos Maza. Maza accused the conservative of inciting harassment and making derogatory comments about his ethnicity and sexuality. YouTube decided to demonetize Crowder's videos, but has refused to...

Kevin Roose, a technology writer for the New York Times, made a front-page splash on Sunday with “The Making of a YouTube Radical – How the Site’s Algorithms Played Into the Hands of the Far Right.” A caption underneath a photo of the story’s subject: “Caleb Cain likens the far right on YouTube to a “decentralized cult.” The interactive version is graphically rich, dominated by an enormous collage of some of the ostensibly harmful YouTube clips Cain watched over several years, and the 4,000-word plus print version take up two full inside pages.
