We got tired of sanctimonious drivers like you, and passed laws.

I didn't say that I stayed in the left lane. I've been tailgated while passing by those who insist the speed limit is whatever it takes to get on the ass of the car ahead.

The law here in CO and a lot of other states is that you are required to move to the right, except during passing, to allow the car behind to pass, no matter how fast you are going, even over the posted speed.

I’ve driven 15 miles over the speed limit and had to move to the right to get out of the way of drivers who want to go faster. It’s insane out there.

On one particular stretch of highway, 10-15 years ago, there was an incident that involved the police shooting into a van they pulled over, allegedly for doing 70 in a 55 mph speed limit. I did not believe that story. I drove that road to work every day, and at 70 mph, I was driving slow compared to the other drivers. The others were doing 80 or 90 easily. (Since then the speed limit there has been raised.)
