I think we agree on both points.
Sure the lady was inconsiderate and a PITA.
But she did not cause the accident in the sense of cause/effect.
Cause/flipping jackass brain/effect is how I see it. The flipping jackass brain caused the accident.
Yep. We are, in fact, in agreement.
I’d pay good money to see those two in a cage match.
“Clearly any normal person can see it.”
Naaaa. Your wrong.
I can see where they were both in the wrong. But the guy in the crash was charged. It looked to me like he was trying to aggressively cut in front when he lost control.
LOL. Back atcha.
I think we can all agree that the guy was driving alongside of the woman, and he was in control enough of his vehicle at that time to flip her off. With a clear lane in front of him. So at that point, there was no accident. They were simply driving next to one another.
He decides, all on his own, to “teach her a lesson” (or express his feelings in some way) by quickly accelerating and swerving in front of her, which unfortunatly for him, was a maneuver the road conditions did not favor. He lost control of his vehicle by virtue of a maneuver that ultimately led to the wreck. It was his foot on the gas and his hand on the wheel.
That he was unable to control his own anger, leading to his ill considered action, is completely on him. 100%. That was the cause of the accident ... his lack of control.
I don’t find the ‘that person made me mad so I did something really stupid” argument as supporting the idea that the other person caused it.
No swerve. No crash. No story.
“That was the cause of the accident ... his lack of control.”
If the woman that was messing with the guy in the truck
did not exist, would the guy have had the accident? Probably
not. But if the guy in the truck did not exist, then the
broad would have found someone else to mess with. There is
no doubt that the broad was messing with the guy, recording
wile deliberately impeding his progress. She started it
intentionally to make the video and was too stupid to know
that it could get out of hand. She and so many on this
thread who want to side with her are the ones who are just
too stupid to realize the danger of getting in the way of people THEY think are driving to fast.
Yea, the do gooder did cause the guy to have a wreck because like
all do gooders, they aren’t capable of figuring in the
unintended consequences.
So the next time you are driving on the road and you see
someone you think is driving too fast and you want to get
in front of them to slow them down, keep in mind , it might
be someone who would have no problem pit maneuvering
you into the ditch.
The moral of the story, speed limits are set so that the
stupidest drivers who barely pass the driving test can
drive safely. So when some one wants to drive faster than
you, let them. Don’t be a do gooder just get the hell
out of the way.
Funny that you mention unintended consequences in this context. That describes what happened to the pickup driver perfectly. I doubt that he intended to lose control and wreck as a consequence of his ill advised swerve.
You know what I find stupid? Believing that someone who recognizes the idiocy of the pickup drivers actions must mean that person supports the woman’s actions. Not everything is zero sum. It is not a binary universe.
Both can be in the wrong at the same time.
