I got a phone call from the sand box this morning. My son said that news of rallies to support our troops has reached Kuwait. He asked that I thank everyone involved because support from home means the world to our troops.

PINGing organizers/supporters of recent Support Our Troops rallies. Don't miss this "great news" thread in the VetsCor Forum by a mom of a military member. Word is getting to deployed troops about your support for them!
Please share this news with FReepers you think would be interested.
APPLAUSE for all who serve our country and those who support our troops!!!

Thank you for posting this GREAT news! I pinged a 'few' FReepers because the VetsCor Forum doesn't get a lot of traffic... yet!
Does your nick mean you have sons in the Army and Marines?
And, WELCOME to FreeRepublic!!!!!

This IS very good news AJ! Diotima is planing on putting together a CD of RFA pics, making a bunch of copies and sending over to our troops in the middle east! Just in case they don't "get the news"!

Oh WOW, that will be great! Will the CDs be available for FReepers to buy too? I know a sailor in the Gulf that I'd like to send one.

You know, almost all the rallies have had pictures posted on FR.
I wonder how hard it would be for an enterprising PAO to pull them from here and print them (or post them) in theater? I mean, doesn't each unit, ship, or base have some sort of newsletter or Public Affairs outlet?
Just a thought for immediacy...

I hadn't thought about selling them to freepers. I am not to excited about the fufillment end of this, let me think about it.
We are certainly going to make the CD's and send them to the troops. Maybe we will make the presentation on the CD's available for download on a website so everyone can have them. I'll let everyone know once we have figured it out.

I would think so. If they have a CD of pics, they can also pull them off that.

Yes, I'm sure they do have a PAO, but finding the address for the deployed unit is the difficult part.

OK thanks! Will the CD have background music too? I wish I could create something like that, but don't have the equipment or knowledge.
If you decide to upload it to a website, I can burn a CD from it. And FReepers could always email the URL to whoever they know who's deployed. But, it will likely be a huge file and when the troops are at the highest Threat condition, their access to email and the Internet will probably be cut off. Plus, some mobile units probably don't have Internet access like units that are at fixed posts and bases. So, the CD would be great for them.

begging for some pings for some wonderful news, and looking for ideas to get this information to the troops.
FReepers, get thee to your local rallies! Or make one. We had a great time at ours.
