"AMERICA REMEMBERS": Sample Promotion Letter

The following is a sample letter you can use to notify your local veterans, military, and conservative organizations(AMVETS,VFW,American Legion,etc.). I am in the process of contacting the national HQ of the major veteran/military organizations. Just copy and paste, no need to include html since most e-mail clients will convert the links at the bottom.

Fellow Americans,

On Memorial Day, May 27, 2002, Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCoR) and the Free Republic Network (FRN) will be conducting various activities around the country to honor and remember our past and present Armed Forces men and women.

Americans in numerous locales will conduct rallies, visits, and other events to show our appreciation for those who have and would make the ultimate sacrifice for our safety and our liberty. The following are some of the activities we might suggest:

1. 3:00pm local time, all participants at all locations conduct a public display such as: light candles, release balloons, honk horns, light headlights, group prayer, join in song, raise a glass;
2. Adopt-a-Base: portable cookouts, baked goods, large signed cards, flowers, plaques, t-shirts/hats, "Thank You" signs, etc. at VA Hospitals, Military bases, Recruit Training Commands, National Cemeteries;
3. Group visits to National Cemeteries;
4. Street rallies;
5. Media interviews;
6. Concurrent on-line threads at multiple military web sites;
7. Mass e-mail to military members;
8. Your ideas;

Please join us in our salute to America's best. Even if you only take a moment at 3:00pm local time, we'd like to include your "moment" or "activities" in our national and local news releases and to notify local citizens to participate with you. The more people and locations that participate, the bigger the message is to our troops and to the families of deceased and missing service members. Thank you.

Please forward this to those you believe would be interested. For information on activities in your area or if you plan some of your own, contact:
