Today, there was a Tea Party at the Santa Monica pier (California) for Ron Paul. The organizer thought, Tuesday before last, that there would be about 100-125 people. Then the word came to him last Tuesday that there were buses coming in from Santa Barbara, Ventura County, and Riverside - so he figured about 500 people would be there. Instead of 500, about 1,000 people marched from Reed Park in Santa Monica, through the 3rd Street Promenade, to the Santa Monica pier.

Featured speakers were G. Edward Griffin, author of “Creature from Jekyll Island” (about the establishment of the Federal Reserve), and Dan Sheehy, author of “Fighting Illegal Immigration Anarchy.” There were other speakers and after each one spoke, a symbolic crate emblazoned with IRS, FED RESERVE, ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, WELFARE STATE, WARFARE STATE, etc., was thrown off the pier.

I should mention that, close to the pier, there is a memorial for every U.S. serviceman killed in the Middle East since the war against terrorism began. Every day this memorial is set up early in the morning and taken down at sundown as the City of Santa Monica won’t allow it on the beach over night.

Most of the 1,000 people went down to the memorial site and, with a fife and drum corp. of three men dressed in Rev. War attire, a short memorial service for the fallen was held.

Then we went back up the steps to the pier and the end of the pier. There were video recorders everywhere but not one member of the MSM was there.

In all, the number of people could be divided into thirds: 1/3 age 18-35; 1/3 35-55; and 1/3 55 and up. I recognized a lot of my friends whom I know are rock-solid conservatives. Funny, George Soros never appeared. Perhaps Soros knew that he would have been thrown off the pier, too.

The chants of “RON PAUL!” and “FREEDOM” were thunderous. The responses to speakers’ questions were equally thunderous. Everyone was there to take back our country and restore the Constitution as the law of the land instead of unconstitutional executive orders, presidential directives, and signing statements. No one wants a CFR-annointed drone, e.g., Guiliani, Romney, McCain, Thompson, Huckabee (why do you think his numbers have risen recently?), Hillary, Obama, Dodd, and Biden.

Ron Paul is the real deal and his record of consistency - spanning four decades - in the U.S. Congress is why supporters love him. Interesting, too, is the fact that people all over the world love him and wish that they had a man of Ron Paul’s character in their country for whom they could vote. Ron Paul’s name has struck a chord for freedom, prosperity, and peace worldwide.

For those who really like to check things out for themselves, go to YouTube.com and read the comments from Germans, Aussies, Brits, etc., who love Ron Paul. Go to MeetUp.com and find out where the MeetUp groups for Ron Paul are in foreign countries. Take a look at the graphs that show how many MeetUp groups there are in this country for Ron Paul. If all the other candidates were put together, their MeetUp groups would be less than half of Ron Paul’s.

Did I mention that there was going to be a big Ron Paul Tea Party in Strasbourg, France? People there are protesting international government interfering in their lives. (Brussels, for instance, has seven governments!)

Yes, Ron Paul’s message of freedom, peace, and prosperity has caught the attention of the world and struck fire in their hearts. Wasn’t it George Washington who said, “Liberty, once it catches hold, is a fast-growing plant.”

GO RON PAUL!!

Wow, that's awesome... I hadn't heard about that, but I wish I could've been there. I heard a speech by Ed Griffin on YouTube, from another rally, and it was really good, in fact I want to read his book now. (Creature from Jekyll Island)

It makes me happy that there are a lot of people who passionately care about this country and the constitution and protecting our freedom. I thought that there were a lot of apathetic people in this country, but that is apparently not the case. And I so agree with you, about not wanting another CFR-annointed drone. And about how Paul is striking a chord, with so many people, who want a man of good character and consistency in the White House... even those in other countries (I have seen the many comments on YT, from people all over the world, and how he even has meet-up groups in Europe and other places overseas)

Thanks for your post!

Thank you for sharing. One of the best recaps of an event I have ever read.

Out of Country right now so could not participate in any of the events.

Did however donate. Donated twice, when the party started, and when, after reading on a forum to donate a second time as the party was about to end, I did again.

I just hope when RP takes the WH he will send me Christmas Cards as GW has for the last 7 years. LOL Donated and raised a lot in GW’s bid for the WH and second term.

Time for a change, a real change.

That's incredible! And in Santa Monica, yet! (I hope nobody damaged the environment or killed any whales.) Will some of the videos be on YouTube for us to watch -- especially G. Edward Griffin's speech? He's the greatest.

Possibly ahead of the beach rally, one of the Hunter folks' husband didn't care for all the Paul rabble disturbing the little children. She reports it second hand that (horrors!) some of the Paul marchers voted for Kerry and AlGore instead of Bush. Can't have any of them supporting a Republican, can we?

thanks for that info. We held a rally here in Vegas that was awsome, probably around 200 people, some dressed in colonial gear with a drummer, marched down to the IRS building where we heard a great speech from a lawyer who defended a group charged with 161 counts of fraud by the IRS. Here are some pics, it was a great day!

Yeah, but he isn’t a warmonger.

Thanks for posting your story.
