All the Bushbots? I doubt it. Some did. This bill was a bad idea from the beginning. Disappointed in the SCOTUS, of course, but, hey. Maybe it'll help to wake up some people to the obstructionism going on right now by the Democrats. They are so frightened that some of GWB's circuit court picks will eventually be appointed to the Supreme Court, thereby diluting its current liberal bias, that they are using unprecedented extreme obstructionist methods to block their confirmations.

Want to make the Supreme Court and all of the federal courts more conservative? Vote out the commie-loving rat bastards! Want to leave the godless America hating Democrats on the bench, vote Rat or third party.

It should also wake up politicians to do the right thing, rather than do wrong and hope the courts will fix your mess.

I remember the political climate at the time. President Bush was under constant attack. I admit that I breathed a collective sigh of relief when he signed the damn thing. One thing I do know is that President Bush is fired up about his Judges, and would have compromised by now if he was going too. Another thing I know, he is a man of priorities, and his Judges are in the first three. The first two being God and family. The Judges are all the dems have left, and President Bush will put the coup d' grace to that soon.!

I'm surprised and disappointed to read this, Jim. You're basically absolving Bush for signing this un-Constitutional piece of crap into law in the first place. Where was the much-warranted veto? Why did the SCOTUS get the case in the first place? For that matter, why did Bush have the opportunity to sign such a bill with the GOP in control of the entire Congress?

Let's put the blame where the blame belongs, not just where it's convenient.

There is a chance of a change in ruling here. The SCOTUS invited more proof of this being against the freedom of speech.
I thought they had made all the arguments, but seems the invite to revisit this suggests there is an opening still to do so.

I am also disappointed in the court. Kind of makes me realize how lucky we all were to NOT have them rule 100% in favor of Gore in 2000 because they are OUT-There!

I agree Jim, but you have to admit that most voters don't even care. All they care about is how someone looks or what soundbite they can put forth.

I don't like to sound negative, but none of this means diddly squat if we don't get the kids out of the indocrination centers called schools.

Most parents don't care any longer. They themselves were the first round of indoctrinated idiots we dealt with in high school and college.

I have two brothers and both have two children, a boy and a girl. I don't have kids and I'm the oldest. One brother is a flaming liberal and his kids are morons. And I truly mean morons. They are spoiled rotten, stupid, disrespectful, whiney and have no social skills at all. They came to visit for 3 days last New Years and were intolerable. The boy never took his headphones off. Not even to drive 1 mile to a restaurant. His parents actually let him bring his PS2 and he spent most of his time playing games. Their daughter is so spoiled she sat in bed whining and wanting attention. I can see them both never leaving home. Their grades are horrible.

My youngest brother just retired from the Air Force after 21 years. His kids are respectful, caring and appreciative of the gifts they have. We don't see any of them enough but when we do they can't spend enough time with us. They say "yes sir" and "thank you" and get good grades and actually care.

Unfortunately, for every family like them, by other brother outnumbers them by 3-1.

So if those brats have to be taxed to death to pay my Soc Sec and Medicare, who am I to argue? LOL

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest since I got the "list" for the kids for Christmas and, as usual, the brats want everything in the world and the good ones asked for nothing. Instead, they wanted to know if we could come visit because they missed us.

The good kids are getting a $500 air hockey table for the entire family while the brats are getting socks! lol

Why don't you just vote out the idiot who signed this bill into Law in the first place?

Oh yea, I forgot. He's a Republican. Therefore he can do no wrong.

But hey, I'll bet he'll appoint some really conservative Supreme Court Judges and they'll fix things.

Yea, right that's the ticket.....

"Want to make the Supreme Court and all of the federal courts more conservative? Vote out the commie-loving rat bastards! Want to leave the godless America hating Democrats on the bench, vote Rat or third party."

That accounts for 1/3 of the problem. The exec and the leg branches knew this was unconstitutional, but rammed it thru anyway. Their message is 'shut up and take it."

The idea that our liberal Republicans in office will fight vehemently and install conservatives to the courts is a FANTASY. Their efforts thus far have been non chalant, except for that voter attracting melodramatic 'Mr Smith' inspired filibuster, where they showed footage of beds in hallways because a few people could not stay up for 1 damn night.

It is clear that we are on the socialist road to ruin in every way possible with the current mix of Republicans. The only answer is to get these liberal do nothing Republicans out of office ASAP at any cost. If they want socialism, let Dean give it to them for 4 years. Let the Reps in Congress go home.

Many are sick of the abuse. Death by 1000 cuts. Every day there is a new insult to the base. Yesterday, amnesty for illegals, social security for illegals back in Mexico...

Enough is enough.

Wasn't Sandra Day O'Conner appointed by a Republican president? She voted to up-hold this un-Constitutional legislation signed into law by a Republican president. The same Republican president that says he supports the renewel of the ban on so-called "assault weapons". The amazing part is that GWBush even acknowledged that he understood this CFR legislation was un-Constitutional when he signed it. Do you think he just plain forgot about his sworn oath to "Protect and Defend" the Constitution of the United States of America?

I understand that you, Mr. Robinson, served in our armed forces, and took a similar oath. Do we honor our sworn oath by voting for a man that we know has already broken his own oath and disregarded his duty? Do you regard your own sworn oath as lightly as George W. Bush?

Jim, but I don't want conservative judges, I want libertarian judges. I want judges like Clarence Thomas who lean libertarian and respect our Constitution. I would prefer Thomas over Scalia any day. Is that too much to ask?
