**As far as I can tell, St. Chuck and I are the only ones who argue consistently for the vernacular Novus Ordo, celebrated according to the GIRM.**

Did you forget me. (Getting slapped down is not a fun thing for me so I don't often voice my views, but if there were a Latin Mass in my town, you would probably not find me there.)

I can find all the reverence needed is a properly and reverently celebrated Novus Ordo Mass that follows the GIRM.

(Take a big breath, dear, you finally said it!)

You're not alone.

However, my own studies of how the Novus Ordo was put together leads me to the conclusion that there is a need for reform in many of the texts that were RADICALLY changed from what the traditional liturgies theologically intended to impart. Over the next month I will post a lengthy treatise from the latest "Thomist" quarterly that points out some of the abuses of modernist thought that infiltrated the Novus Ordo.

I love the N.O. but it does need some reform, IMO! :^)

Did you forget me.

I didn't forget you.

There is a group on the forum I call the foundation. That is, you stay above the NO-vs-Tridentine fray for the most part and focus on the most important aspects of our faith: doctrine, Mass Readings, postings from the Catechism, and updates from the Vatican on the Pope's itinerary and speeches.

That group includes you, sandyeggo, NYer, american colleen, and, on occasion, ninenot, and others whose names don't jump out at me right now.

On occasion, I post an article or column from THE NATIONAL CATHOLIC REPORTER. Now, the Reporter is one end of the spectrum, and the Wanderer is on the other. The articles I post are innocuous, usually John Allen's commentary from Rome and one or two others that would seem to be of interest.

What do I get? Two or three responses (even though more Vatican officials talk to him than to any other American journalist stationed in Rome and he breaks some important stories as well), or, more likely, I'm questioned on why I would dare post something from the NCR on this hallowed forum.

I'm a mainstream Catholic. My parish follows the GIRM, we don't "experiment" with the liturgy, and I happen to like the Novus Ordo.

Sometimes I feel as out of place here as if I were posting on DU.

I agree with you, I will cast myself in the people who don't have a serious problem with the Novus Ordo.

With that said, I will issue a Caveat, it has to be done reverentially, at least kneeling during the Eucharistic Prayer (Consecration), quiet reflection after communion (if they want to do the meditation song, quite reflection after that), wouldn't mind kneeling during the "Lord Have Mercy, Christ Have Mercy" but that's just me.

I also do love the Tridetine Mass, don't know if I could handle it everyday though.

There, I said it, and I still consider myself a Traditionalist.

God Bless
