What I am trying to discuss is what I see to be why these mainstream churches go off into false doctrine.

WHY?

Easy: they don't know the Scriptures!

Exactly! people aren't studying the Bible for themselves. Much of what the church as a whole teaches is watered down. The liberal churches have embraced much of this (New Age ) long ago.

When this happened to people I knew, I was shocked, but realized how easily it happens when the Bible is not taught.They claimed to teach the Bible, but much of the time was spent advertising books, seminars, etc.. all kinds of weird stuff.
