True to the text. Wow. If anyone would like to get the script of this movie before the movie comes out, just read the words in "The Life of Jesus Christ" by Anne Catherine Emmerich, 4 vols. published by TAN Books and Publications.
The gospel in the Bible is like mere 'photographs' compared to the 'video' provided by Sr. Emmerich. Mel Gibson could not have found a better script.

Mel Gibson has done a great service for God - that those who know not the power, mercy, glory and love of His Son, should come to know Him, and that those who have forgotten, that they might know Him once more, and forever.

It would be most enjoyable if this turned out to be the blockbuster of them all. I'll likely see it. I'm a little worried about the language thing.

Audience members at least, those who stay will feel as if they are watching an actual crucifixion. Should be required viewing for ALL catholic religious, especially the Roger Mahoney and other liberal element.

Another quote from the article:
Coming back to the story of Jesus nearly 20 years later was difficult, he says. "It seemed so distant, you know? I had to reconsider and say to myself, 'Now hang on a minute, this isn't a fairy tale this actually happened, this is real.' And that started me thinking about what it must have been like, what Christ went through, and I started seeing it in film terms." I think this says it all. Gibson knows it was real and isn't out to make a buck by sensationalizing it.

<> God Bless you for this good work. This has got to be a great movie. Mebbe it will get folks to thinking and that will lead to metanoia.<>

"Mel likes to put violence in his movies," the actor says, "but all he cares about is making it look true to the text. Never before has a film of our Lord been shown like this one. By the time [audiences] get to the crucifixion scene, I believe there will be many who can't take it and will have to walk out I guarantee it. And I believe there will be many who will stay and be drawn to the truth." Powerful stuff. God bless Gibson and the people putting together this film.

Some pics from the movie are
here. Don't know if you wanna ping anyone. They are pretty graphic.
Interesting to see what the rating will be.
There is some reason for the timing of this movie. I think it means a great deal.

I've read the book by Sr. Catherine Emmerich, and it was vivid with brutal decription of the sufferings of Jesus. Incidentally, there is also a 4 volumes on the life of Jesus, wherein the book "The Dolorious Passion of Jesus" was excerpted from.
I can't wait to see the movie. Last but not least, Mel must have had divine inspiration to tackle this project, and when you do God's will, expect turmoil and suffering, but like the life of Jesus, there is the glorious resurrection.

May the Good Lord continue to watch over them as they film this..........and more importantly, after it's released.
