Could I ask a serious question of some Mormons? (Please?)
today | me

No man who rejects the testimony of Joseph Smith can enter the kingdom of God"
Doctrines of Salvation, vol. I, p. 190).

My question:
Is that what Mormons believe?
If so, how was anyone saved before 1830.

R7 you are not LDS why should it bother you what us LDS women do? Practice your own religion you and your spouce are different faiths is that not so? When my husband died I was taken care of very well my the brethern in the church they were and still are very helpful!

You take delight out magnifing a hand ful of disgruntel sisters, who most likely are not followship and not "Keeping The Lord Commandments" or they in their hearts would not be murmuring, also they could be at a vaulerable moment and others like to take advantage!

The support system is in the church is wonderful and longs to help one get it stronger and to over come a setback in life. In some cases which is up to the Bishop and GA to precead causiously if children are involved.

I guess you feel those who live in heaven will never have to follow in a orderly way and keep covenants.

Unless you elevate your thoughts you will always see the oposition side!

Have you mentaly put yourself in the position someone who has and sincerely loves more than one wife, and has to pick one and cast the others aside (along with the children of those marriages)?

AWWwww........ don't whine to us; complain to GOD!!!

Ezra 10

 1.  Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
 2.  And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
 3.  Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
 4.  Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
 5.  Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.
 6.  Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
 7.  And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
 8.  And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
 9.  Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
 10.  And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.
 11.  Now therefore make confession unto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
 12.  Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
 13.  But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
 14.  Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.
 15.  Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
 16.  And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
 17.  And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
 18.  And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
 19.  And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.
 20.  And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.
 21.  And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
 22.  And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
 23.  Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same is Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
 24.  Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
 25.  Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
 26.  And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.
 27.  And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
 28.  Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.
 29.  And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
 30.  And of the sons of Pahathmoab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
 31.  And of the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
 32.  Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemariah.
 33.  Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, and Shimei.
 34.  Of the sons of Bani; Maadai, Amram, and Uel,
 35.  Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh,
 36.  Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
 37.  Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau,
 38.  And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,
 39.  And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
 40.  Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
 41.  Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
 42.  Shallum, Amariah, and Joseph.
 43.  Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah.
 44.  All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.

If its not in the Bible, its not right.
Polygamy is in the Bible. The twelve tribes come from Abraham's sons by different wives. God's chosen people are polygamists! Oh no! Blood Atonement by Jesus Christ is in the Bible. I don't understand what the JofD says on the subject and don't accept it. The Church has never practiced it and a group, Danites, who did were excommunicated.

The only thing remotely related in the Bible is in
Acts 5
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet...

Both fell dead from lying. Now, if people fell dead every time they lied, there would be no people left.

Did God kill or murder them for lying? Was it the power of God possessed by the apostles kill them? I don't understand it. God didn't kill Peter for denying Him or Judas for betraying Him.

Adam God Theory is called a theory for a reason. I don't study it and I don't care about it. I have never heard it discussed in church.

Baptism for the dead is definitely talked about in the Bible. People were practicing it and Paul used it to support his arguements for the ressurrection. He does not condemn it.

Holy underwear? Hey, lets not talk about my underwear and I won't talk about yours either. But, this is definitely in the Bible:

Exodus 28:2
And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

Exodus 28:3
And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Exodus 28:4
And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Exodus 29:5
And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod:

Exodus 29:21
And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

Exodus 29:29
And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.

Exodus 31:10
And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

There are still Jewish sects today that wear religious garments under their clothing. it is not a new practice and is definitely in the Bible.

You show me one place in the Bible that says the Blacks or any Gentiles can hold the Preisthood. In the old testament, only the Levites could hold the Preisthood. Know any black levites? Those racist Jews. God even has chosen people. Imagine that.

If it is not in the Bible it's not right? What if it is in the Bible?

What does the Bible say about women and divorce? You don't care what the Bible says? Or do you just choose not to accept it because the Bible is not PC? And who is Laake. May I have a link? I don't accept what you are saying and have already given my opinion on the subject. You have already given yours.

The JofD is not scripture and I am not embarrassed about it. Do I agree with everything in it? No. Do I have to as a "good Mormon"? No. Is there truth in the JofD? Yes.

So, is the false printed in red and the truth printed in blue so that you mere LDS organization members can tell the difference?

Depends on the situation. If it is in general conference or an official statement then I agree with it. But I don't have to always just agree with it. The Prophets have always taught that you should pray and ask God about what they say. Mormons should just not take it on Faith alone. Pray and get a witness from the Holy Ghost if what they are saying is true. I ask God if I have a problem with anything President Hinckley says. So far I haven't had a problem with anything he has said. I did pray and ask God if President Hinckley is his Prophet and God answered that yes, he is.

What about the sermons written by Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young? Would you say you would have , or should have agreed with them?

Hey, don't take it personal. It was only a joke.
Look, I have already said that I don't accept it and neither do you. So we are in agreement. Next.

I did pray and ask God if President Hinckley is his Prophet and God answered that yes, he is.

If Muslims do the same, asking about Muhammed, is he to be considered a 'true' prophet also?
