Sunday School Teacher Arrested on Molestation Charges

Sacramento police have arrested a 36-year-old Sunday school teacher on charges of molesting a 12-year-old boy.

Christopher Todd Hettiger was a church elder and taught Sunday school for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Rio Tierra Avenue in south Natomas.

Hettiger apparently met the boy and his mother through the church and hired the woman as a housekeeper. The boy attended Hettinger's Sunday school class and stayed overnight at Hettiger’s home on several occasions.

According to police, the case broke when the boy no longer wanted to visit Hettiger. When his mother asked why, he revealed the alleged molested, which had been going on for more than a year.

Hettiger also worked in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program four years ago. His many contacts with young people have raised suspicions that there might be additional victims.

According to investigators, Hettinger has no criminal record. He is self-employed, working out of his house as a computer consultant.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call (916) 443-HELP.

It doesn't say 'Jesus was not created' it says 'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. ' and you then take that as meaning Jesus was not created.

What did that mean to first century Christians?

Wrigley: What would have been more appropriate would have you saying that "I was wrong when I posted my response to Wrigley. I shouldn't have let my frustration get in the way of a response. I am sorry for posting it." post #107

"What in post 73 do you disagree with? "

Lots. This is where you get to show me if you really willing to listen to our side or not...

"Jesus was conceived by physical union between God the Father and Mary...Jesus had several wives..." - IS NOT AND NEVER WAS LDS DOCTRINE.
http://www.fairlds.org/apol/brochures/GodMary.pdf

and there is no doctrine about Christ having any wife or not. http://www.lightplanet.com/response/answers/jesus-married.htm

"Jesus was the brother of Lucifer (Satan)... Jesus was created " - http://www.fairlds.org/pubs/JesusSatan.pdf

"The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct gods " - http://www.jefflindsay.com/LDSFAQ/oneness.shtml

"Jesus is our elder brother who progressed to become a god" - covered in http://www.fairlds.org/pubs/JesusSatan.pdf

"Jesus Christ plays only an initial role in our salvation" - not exactly sure what they mean by this charge, but from the link it seems to be a denial of the need for obedience. We do belive that all men (except the sons of predition) are saved (ie: will enter a kingdom of glory), but those who obey can become exhalted and recieve a greater reward. We focus on gaining exhaltation, and sadly many members use the word 'salvation' when what is really being talked about is exhaltation.

"Certain sins are beyond the atoning blood of Christ" - Bible even says so: Mat12:31 "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men."

"Jesus is only one of many saviors" - Again, the personal opinions of ANY member is nothing more than their opinion. http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Ensign/1976.htm/ensign%20april%201976.htm/i%20have%20a%20question.htm?fn=document-frame.htm&f=templates&2.0

"A personal relationship with Christ is discouraged as false doctrine " - FALSE. I'm surprised anyone would even try to pass of such a total lie as the truth. http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Ensign/1974.htm/ensign%20september%201974.htm/what%20it%20means%20to%20know%20christ.htm

We all are spirit brothers and sisters, given that we were created by God the Father. Perhaps you believe that Lucifer is above it all and was not created by God. The answer to your question is YES, but said answer does not really prove your point -- such as it is.

You are beyond boring and should stop embarassing yourself. Your "sour grapes" is evident to all who care, but nobody here really does acre to hear your pointless screeds. The only care we have here is that you find your way back to our Father in Heaven. And that is between you and Him. You would do well to concentrate on that and cease your pathetic attempts to conquer and discredit His Church. Just give it up, for your own sake....

No, I believe Jesus Christ was above it all and not created by God. He is not the spirit-bro of Lucifer.

This assumes that the COJSLDS is His church and not a JS fabrication. Dangerous assumption.

What ever is your point -- for "the record?" Do you fancy yourself a prosecutor in a court of law? All you do is atack and bore us all.

Do yourself a favor and get with the program. It is growing and will continue to grow as it has in the face of infinitely greater enemies than you.

You are just passing gas in the wind and will remain obscure and of no use to anyone if you continue to joust against an immovable force. You owe it to yourself to progress and are worthy of being so warned...

Our doctrine is based on what God has revealed to his prophets, both past and present. We do not rely on the understanding of men to decide what some passage means or to determine what teachings are true. Without revelation, all you have is man's understanding.

Prove it if you can -- to yourself. You are fighting an uphill battle which you have absolutely no chance of winning. Learn about that which you attack and don't understand. Repent, cut your losses, and quit while you are ahead.....

"What did that mean to first century Christians?"

Many of the things other christians disagree with us over are things that first century Christians believed,
http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Ensign/1988.htm/ensign%20march%201988.htm/comparing%20lds%20beliefs%20with%20firstcentury%20christianity.htm?f=templates&fn=document-frame.htm&q=Nicene%20Creed&x=Simple&2.0

But the real question isn't what they think, but what God knows. Men can study and argue and make point and counterpoint till judgement day. If a person wants to know the truth however, they have to ask God with faith and sincerity to reveal it to them.

Care to take P-Marlowe up on this?

How about a P-Marlowe vs TRACER thread dedicated to debate: The LDS Faith, true or false?

All the other LDS headed for the hills. They want no discussion where they can't duck, avoid or name call.

Ground rules:

[1] All comments posted by other than the two of you will be ignored and unresponded to by the two of you.

[2] You both will refrain from all name calling.

[3] Statements will be substantiated and sourced.

[4] Questions asked by the other will be answered in a straight forward manner. If you do not know the answer, you will state that you do not.

[5] No question will be ignored or avoided.

No, trying to get a precise idea of rest's post. I've learned from here that if you don't pin her down, she tries to wiggle away.

I'd say the same to you. Repent you false church and come follow Him.

"That's the problem. All you guys have made up your mind and don't want to give honest consideration to anything we have to say."

We take our marching orders directly from the Lord and from the Scriptures and His prophets. So why should we "give honest consideration to anything (you) have to say.

We are here to teach, not to be taught by individuals who have been confused by apostate doctrines and the philosophies of men.

And that is all that we are required to do. "Convincing" is the role of the Holy Spirit and not ours -- nor yours........

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that Satan was more powerful than my Lord and Savior. I'll stick with Him.

We don't seek to debate the things of God and won't do so. We are here to teach, and that is our charge. "Convincing" is the role of the Holy Spirit, not ours -- and certainly not yours or any other sophist who is looking to hit a home run without the benefit of any identifiable Priesthood authority That's how it is and it is not up for debate.

If you want to learn, then listen and do so. If not, take your bigotry and spew it at someone who enjoys the thrill of contention. Those whom you seem to revile have better things to do...
