Thanks narses. I like the stuff you post because it almost always leads me on to further research. Before FR, I had never heard of Gramsci or Windswept House, and I knew next to nothing about Cardinal Bernardin, Cardinal Mahony or Cardinal Weakland. I am so grateful that so many posters post such diverse information. I've certainly gotten an education!

The change-agents are pre-maturely blowing taps over the Church while flabbergasted Catholic parishioners, temporarily set off balance by the astonishing revelations of corruption and corrosion of faith amongst the Church's princes, are demanding that the Church return to the ways of the holy mother faith. While destructive damage has already been done to the lives and faith of many, damage that in many cases is not redeemable, there are hopeful signs that goodness is returning."

As I read your post, I thought that it would be sad and ironic, indeed, if the Church watched over by Karol Woytyla, that fearsome old Commie-cruncher, were to be mortally wounded on his watch by the very Communists he has so decisively bested before. We need a LOT of very serious prayer and fasting for this battle. It is not the beginning of the end. But it might almost be the end of the beginning.
