I'd be inclined to drop one of these in their collection basket...

Thank you for today's Gospel reading. A propos.

Either my mouse went on the fritz for a moment or you may have the wrong Cardinal. I know this is weird, but when I when to select the email address of the good Cardinal to paste into my email window, the button stopped clicking. I'd move it off the email address and it would work. I'd move it back to select that bit of text and it wouldn't. That happened three times.
Now I can select it just fine, but I won't. Devil's work? Angel's? You decide. I can't email him yet.

Try going to the Diocese of Lincoln
homepage. At the very bottom is a link named "Contact." Have the text of your message in the buffer, click the "Contact" link, then Control/V to paste the text into the Message box of the e-mail.

Sorry to mislead you. The problem I was having was with the link to Cardinal Keeler. I have already written to Bishop Bruskewitz.

That parish (above) sponsoring a "Gay and Lesbian Ministry" (
http://www.stbernadette.org/ ) does not list a specific, separate "ministry" for alcoholics, cocaine addicts , schizophrenics, smokers, depression sufferers , the deaf , the blind , those suffering from sexual dysfunction or menopause, those crippled and confined to wheelchairs, the obese, anorexics, cancer patients , abortion victims, Tourette's sufferers, or sex abuse victims, victims of spousal abuse, rape victims. Now, all of these constitute as significant segments of the victimized population who, theoretically, could have their own special, separate "ministry" and "liturgies." Is that how we want the Church to go - separate Masses based on the type of disorder, illness, or victimological status?
The parish is raising money for AIDS but does not list "funds" donated for other illnesses, diseases, and psychic disorders. Why should homosexuals and predominantly homosexual diseases be given such special status? You can bet there are more alcoholics, cancer patients, and spousal abuse victims than homosexuals.
To: eastsider
Also, should each of those victim groups also have their own flags, parades, and weekend resort parties?
To: eastsider
It is significant that Pilarczyk was put in his position by Cardinal Bernardin.

Robert Nugent belongs to the Salvatorians (Society of the Divine Savior), whose U.S. Chapter House is in WisconsinThis bunch of vipers have control of a NW Milwaukee-area parish and at least one of them was recently jailed for criminal attacks on boys.
Needless to say, Rembert Weakland and his minions made it almost impossible for the police to find the perpetrator and THEN FIRED the teacher who 'blew the whistle;' Bertie also banished a very good priest who helped blow the whistle. The priest has no current assignment, and has been 'out of work' for about 7 years now...

I'm not personally familiar with Milwaukee. Is this anywhere near where Jeffrey Dahmer lived?
To: eastsider
Ah, yes, Dahmer--the queer who ate his lovers for lunch. (It was NOT reported widely that Dahmer was a queer--but the cops knew and told everyone who would listen.)
As to your question: Dahmer lived about 6 linear miles from the parish in question. Probably was not a member--but who knows???

I'm really not interested in your assinine whining...you obviously don't understand the difference between a real fact and your opinion. You call me a moron, and then accuse me of tossing insults...for purposes of trying to educate you a wee bit, that is what is known as an oxymoron...
If you can't reason, don't be surprised when people disagree with you.

suspect you will get an answer I was pleasantly surprised a couple of months ago. Recall when Msgr.Eugene Clark gave his Homily 4-21 of this year I took the liberty of sending him a supporting letter and was quite surprised to receive acknowledgement from the Monsignor. It was no form letter but one of real substance. I believe we should encourage the courageous clergy and politely encourage dissenting clergy to leave by the front door.

Msgr. Clark is a true man of God. And you get stars in your crown, ejo, for encouraging a faithful priest.
We all need to take up a Barnabas-like ministry of supporting and encouraging the godly and the faithful by our prayers, letters, e-mails and calls.

As per St. Bernadette's
national list of "gay friendly" parishes, there are three parishes in the Archdiocese of New York that need fumigating:
St. Paul the Apostle - Manhattan, New York City
St. Francis Xavier - Manhattan, New York City
St. Joseph's - Greenwich Village
Did you get the impression from Msgr. Clark's substantive letter that he would be interested in knowing about St. Bernadette's national list and that three parishes in his own backyard have made the hit parade?
