I will try to post the appropriate prayers on the appropriate days. If anyone has a clue of which prayers go with which days, you can help me out -- Freepmail me.
I pray that the Bishops are sincere in this goal, because I for one will be praying.
Anyway, that poem is from a book entitled "The Secret of the Rosary" by St. Louis De Montfort and the words I posted were written by Blessed Alan de la Roche. Actually there is more to it and here it is.
Blessed Alan de la Roche says: "Let everyone who loves you, oh most holy Mar, listen to this and drink it in: (then the poem)
Blessed Alan continues..."For the sweetness of this blessed salutation is so great that there are no words to explain it adequaltely, and even when its wonders have been sung, we still find it so full of mystery and so profound that the depths can never be plumbed. It has but few ords but is exceeding rich in mystery; it is sweeter than honey and more precious than gold. We should often meditate upon it in our hearts and have it ever upon our lips so as to say it devoutly again and again." Blessed Alan was speaking of the Hail Mary.
"One day St. Gertrude had a vision of Our Lord counting gold coins. She summoned the courage to ask Him what he was doing. He answered: 'I am counting the Hail Marys that you have said: this is the money with which you can pay your way to Heaven.'
Our Lady said herself to St. Gertrude: "No salutation could be dearer to my heart than those beautiful and dignified words that God the Father addressed to me Himself."
And she said to St. Mechtilde: "All the Angelic Salutations that you have given me are blazoned on my cloak." (Then she held out a portion of her mantle) "When this part of my cloak is full of Hail Marys I shall gather you up and take you into the Kingdom of my Beloved Son."
What an awesome God we serve.
With the quotes you have there, and the way the story of the visitation to Elizabeth unfolds, I can not understand how anyone can keep from calling our Blessed Mother Blessed.
Maybe this is just one of the things that I will never fully understand in this life.
