"can you please reformulate this part of your sentence?"

Sadly, until the present reality is restored to right order, those words are les mots justes.

That looks like a very promising opportunity to make a little noise. I reckon we could assemble enough of our kind to get noticed. I'll be in touch.

Romulus, is there anywhere handy you could have the letter translated into Polish and send it to pope masquerading as personal mail from a landsman?

Though I'm from New Orleans, I'm not into masquerades. Nevertheless, I have no pride of authorship in these matters, and would gladly accept as co-author any competent Polish speaker (I know none myself).

We wouldn't be talking about Archbishop Quinn of San Francisco? If we are,its time to sit back and connect dots.

Dissenter bishop,National non-Catholic Reporter, Eugene Kennedy and the three report writers.

Oh,and then read the report, read it and really look for their recommendations.

The two pronged attack on the Church is 1)Corrupt the clergy 2)Destroy the Papacy. Now which of the 6 above named persons are known as defenders of the Faith?

I say three writers because the third name on the report was Peterson,a priest who estblished the St.Luke's Treatment Center for abusive priests. Peterson later died of Aids.

You know what I noticed in government? First you plan the crisis, then you get grants to manage the crisis we created.Hmm?

No language schools in NO? I don't know that there are many university courses in Polish, but around here there are language schools that will hunt up someone with any language you want.

Bishop Gregory is on EWTN at a press conference.

I'm somewhat surprised the NAACP hasn't denounced the Bishops for making Gregory our head, knowing these scandals were going to be revealed.

Poor man....

Another Bernardin creation was Bishop Robert N. Lynch of St. Petersburg

Thank you very much for that bit of information. It explains a great deal.

Lynch did not enter the Priesthood until he was in his late 30's, and his advancement was very rapid. Now I understand how that happened.

BTW, the seminary (St. John Vianney in Miami) at which Lynch was the rector is not specifically mentioned in Goodbye! Good Men, but there is a message from a man on the GGM website who claims to have attended that seminary and reports that it was as bad as any seminary Rose names in his book.

I have started several threads about Lynch on FR over the last month based on articles from the Tampa Tribune. If you haven't seen those, you might want to do a search.

Lynch is somewhat a silver-tongued devil. If you simply listen to him speak, you might conclude that he was a great guy and an excellent Bishop. However, if you look at the facts reported by the local media and if you can think at all, you would have to conclude that he is anything but an excellent Bishop. In fact, he has more in common with Satan than with the Apostles.

Finally, you mentioned in a previous message that a St. Pete Priest told his parish that if the parish's BAPA goals are not met, the Bishop would take the money from the parish anyway. Our parish has announced the same thing.

Our parish's BAPA goal was around $350,000. Only about $50,000 has been pledged, and only about $28,000 has been collected. We were told that the difference between the $350,000 and the amount that will be collected will come out of the parish's operating income.

Lynch lives very high on the hog and regularly takes his boy toys on expensive trips to Key West and San Francisco, the two most prominent havens for homos in the U.S. (if not the world). So, I guess it's more important for Lynch to get his rectum poked in homo-romantic venues than to fund the religious education program at my parish.

What a group of miscreants we have leading the Church in America! Unfortunately, it's not just America.

The bishops listened to 2 liberals Scott Appleby (prof. Notre Dame -- who does not have a mandatum

Appleby doesn't need a mandatum; he doesn't teach theology.

You can be sure that if Gregory is ever accused of sexual abuse, Jesse Jackson will be beside him at his first news conference. Bernardin's Boys aren't Christians anyway. So, what does it matter where Gregory turns for "religious" support.

Wouldn't that be great for ecumenism?

Very interesting connections. Can you verify them, especially the Quinn and Peterson connections?

Lynch must feel quite certain of his invulnerability if he acts so open and notoriously. Where does this sense of invulnerability come from? Shanley had it, too, and he was just a priest. Is it simply lack of accountability, or is it lack of enforcement from Rome?

It's both lack of accountability and enforcement.

Bishops like Lynch must feel totally bushwhacked by the media. While I am sure the transgressions by the Bishops have been occurring for decades, the media has ignored them. No longer. The current crop of Bishops must arrogantly feel that it's just not fair that they are getting caught and their predecessors weren't caught.

After all, it's just about sex (and money) and everybody's doing it -- two great defenses that prevented a President's conviction.

Well,I was taking a guess on Quinn. The former SFbish was named John so it may not have been him.

It seems there is an AJQuinn, aux.bish of Cleveland, who recently was newsworthy because of his advice to diocesan lawyers about 12 years ago."Hide the records with the Nuncio, where they can't be subpoenoed.Diplomatic immunity".Also apparent that Cleveland has harbored and covered for sexually abusive priests for quite some time.Nonetheless,he is not as infamous a dissenter as the former SF Quinn.

I know Peterson was one of the authors of the Doyle/Moutton Report,I read it years ago.And he definitely died of Aids and ran the program at St. Luke's.For a quick but unofficial confirmation, check out a thread posted last night at 11:58 entitled The Priest Scandal:How Old Newsetc.,it is very long but it confirms Peterson{priest}co-authored the report.

Its just another example of how the "progressives" set up "win/win" situations. It would have assured the authors jobs for life,if accepted;if rejected,as it was,it gave the enemy the ability to say "I told you so",and use the rejection of the report as a means to discredit those who are trying take holy and decent action.

Cleveland has come up quite a few times recently on this Forum, mostly in connection with their Gay and Lesbian Family Ministry web page. A few months ago, they were advertising for the "Gay Pride Parade" and various "Gay Pride" events. Those references have been removed, although the secular rainbow icon and secular terms "gay" and "lesbian" still remain.

Overall, Ohio seems to have some of the "gay friendliest" dioceses in the nation. Is it merely coincidence that the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries is being held in Ohio in September?
