Catholic Caucus: Patron

The Catholic Caucus of Freepers are in need of our own patron saint. We seem to be quickly developing into something of an apostolate of our own. So I think we should take time to post our ideas about who our patron saint(s) should be for our work here on FreeRepublic.

Thank you for the quote, and for the icon earlier, of this wonderful man. As an Orthodox Christian, every Sunday I participate in the celebration of the Liturgy he created.

You’re welcome. He is one of my favorites.

In either case, is Orthodox participation welcome, or should I stick to the more "ecumenical" threads? Thanks, and Christ Bless!

Of course you are welcome on this and all Catholic threads. I also appreciate your defending the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Neverending thread. There is much misunderstanding going on over there.

This is one of the most comprehensive Catholic apologetics sites. Please take a very careful, slow, thorough look at it, all of it. After reading all of it, get back to us. Until then, stop persecuting Christ by persecuting the Body of Christ.

That's it?!! That's all you've got??!! lol! C'mon, this guy deflates every argument your new friends have and all you can say is you aren't impressed? I don't think you read it. Either that, or it scares you because you know he's right.

So you've got an old Marine, armed with a Rosary, praying for you, pro-life. You better watch out.

And here is another person praying for, you pre-life. Obviously by your screen name you accept the Catholic concept that all life comes from God and thence is holy and blessed.

Please remember that you are holy and blessed also.

If there is a Catholic Church near you that is having a class for those wanting answers and especially for inactive Catholics, I encourage you to hook into one of them. Some of the names of groups are Landings, Catholics Can Come Home, Welcome Home, Catholics and Journeys. You are more than welcome at any of them.

In the meantime, prayers are coming your way. I know that God will open your heart and let you do the research into the Catholic side of things. God bless!

Through the intercession of St. Francis and St. Clare and of all the saints on earth and in heaven, may peace come to Bethlehem and throughout the Holy Land.

I think we all shout a resounding "Amen" to that prayer!

"(1)to fend off false attacks on the Catholic Church, (2) to support each other during a time of crisis and to continue to be a clear Catholic voice in any conservaitve discussion, (3)and to present the truth about the Lord and Holy Mother Church without reservation and with courage"

This is evangelization at work! Well and doing the job to bring all to the true understanding of Jesus Christ!

As I said above, our saints are the patron saints of missions!
