1 Corinthians 5 1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
Is "horny" necessary? Are you puffed up?
I agree with the Scripture. What do you think I think? It has always clearly been my position that such men should be removed from the priesthood. Ask anyone.
Which is entirely irrelevant to the question of whether a man's sins make it imposible for him to act validly as a priest. No, they do not. That was also made clear.
Someone with serious problems should not be working in the ministry and should have no authority to perform sacraments. He should be "de-frocked." That has always been my position. Nobody I know was in favor of what the bishops did who shuffled these cases around. Nobody.
But none of that changes the fact that a man who is ordained a priest becomes a channel for Christ.
