There you go again with this "any" business. With certain of you guys, it's all or none. Everything's digital, on or off. Either He elevates her above all mankind, or he shows no affection for her. Either she's to be venerated, or we loathe her.

"Who is my mother and who are my brothers" ought to put a damper on any thought of exalting His blood relatives over, say, the apostles for instance. That is, of course, unless one has the RCC Magic Decoder Ring to put that stuff in the "proper" perspective.

Not that he holds any animosity toward the Bible, because it certainly doesn't demand the position it was put in, but it seems Jesus went out of his way not to encourage it, and that there would be nothing that could be pointed to later, saying He promoted it?

While finishing up Ephesians this morning, and reading about the full armor of God, that Christians need to put on, I hadn't noticed 6:17 before, or at least in the same light as today.

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The word of God is only found in the word of God, and the sword (weapon)of the Holy Spirit, is the word, and with out that word, we have no defense, and no full suit of armor.
