Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
I would love to hear someone?s defense of this.
Acts 15: 24. Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

"" saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: ""
Why is this phrase only in the KJV ?
and not in the Greek ?
nor any other translation ?
When was this added ?
Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the
Thessalonians, for they received the message with great
eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if
what Paul said was true.

Actually I have had a few power outages in the last few years. During the first one I went out to the shed with my flashlight, put gas in the generator, and started it. By the time I had strung a few cords into the house the electricity came back on.
The last outage I had occurred about 11PM so I just went to bed early. When I got up it was back on again.

This should put this issue to rest!
The problem I see with the position you hold is that you are adding your interpretation to an event that occured in the life of Christ.
In doing so, you are almost completely erasing the crystal clear words of Paul, who actually devotes an entire chapter (1 Corinthian 15) to explaining specifically what the resurrections bodies of saints and Christ are like.
Paul would presumably be an expert and the last word on the subject since he actually spoke with the resurrected Christ.
Are the following statements true or false?
God is spirit and is made of non created material.
Joh 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
Agreed?
Jesus Christ was God before his incarnation and made of non-created material. Therefore he was also spirit. Agreed?
Jesus Christ was made flesh and blood. Agreed?
What was Jesus AFTER he was resurrected?
Let's let Jesus answer this:
Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Before the world was, Jesus had the SAME glory as God the Father. His prayer was to RETURN to that SAME glory that he had. To his spiritual body.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.
Here Paul says it again. Jesus was made a spirit. A spiritual body.
Okay.
I have eternal life, every saved man and woman already has eternal life . That life began on the day I repented and believed
You have the guarantee of eternal life:
Eph 1:13-14 You heard and believed the message of truth, the Good News that he has saved you. In him you were sealed with the Holy Spirit whom he promised. This Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we will receive our inheritance. We have this guarantee until we are set free to belong to him. God receives praise and glory for this.
The holy spirit is the promise that God will give us eternal life at the coming of Christ. This occurs at the second coming of Christ:
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
Notice how Paul says we are still mortal UNTIL Christ returns. Then we receive our promise, the promise of eternal life.
But then again, this is just Paul exactly describing when and what occurs.
Of course God's guarantee is as good as gold, which is why in many places the writers of scripture write as if it is already a sure thing.
Acts 15 (Darby)
24 Inasmuch as we have heard that some who went out from amongst us have troubled you by words, upsetting your souls, [saying that ye must be circumcised and keep the law]; to whom we gave no commandment;
Acts 15 (YLT)
24 seeing we have heard that certain having gone forth from us did trouble you with words, subverting your souls, saying to be circumcised and to keep the law, to whom we did give no charge,
Acts 15 (WE)
24 We have heard that some of our people visited you and talked to you. They taught things that troubled you and made you believe wrong things. They said, "You must be circumcised like the Jews and keep the law." We did not tell them to teach you this.
Another KJV question is what happened to verse 1 of Psalm 22. The Tanakh JPS, and Latin have the following.
22:1 For the Leader; upon Aijeleth ha-Shahar. A Psalm of David.
22:1 psalmus David Dominus reget me et nihil mihi deerit
However the KJV drops that verse and starts with the 2nd verse.
22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
Then there is the question about why the KJV inserted the word 'pierced' for LION later in Psalm 22.
Psalm 22
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
from the Hebrew
738 'ariy ar-ee' or (prolonged) earyeh {ar-yay'}; (in the sense of violence); a lion:--(young) lion, + pierce (from the margin).
1) lion
a) pictures or images of lions
Either this person in question was pierced by a lion, or the word pierced doesn't belong in the verse at all. And what does (from the margin) mean? It means that someone wrote pierce in the margin of some manuscript, so that when it was trans-scribed later, the word pierced could be inserted. And it was. Since verse 21 of the KJV correctly translates the word into lion, it would seem that the word pierce/d does not belong in verse 16 of the KJV at all.
From the Tanakh (The Jewish Bible)
17 For dogs have encompassed me; a company of evil-doers have inclosed me; like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet.
18 I may count all my bones; they look and gloat over me.
19 They part my garments among them, and for my vesture do they cast lots.
20 But Thou, O HaShem, be not far off; O Thou my strength, hasten to help me.
21 Deliver my soul from the sword; mine only one from the power of the dog.
22 Save me from the lion's mouth; yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen do Thou answer me.
From the KJV
Psalm 22
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
Psalms 22:16 was deliberately mistranslated. Since verse 21 of the KJV correctly translates the word into lion, it would seem that the word pierce/d does not belong in verse 16 of the KJV at all. The word is properly translated as lion, NOT pierced!
King James Word Usage - Total: 80 lion 79, untranslated variant 1
Guess what verse is the VARIANT?
Why, it's this one.... For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
My Daughter 4 month old dell ( which replaced her 3 year old gateway )is completely inoperative thanks to the worm. They can not even open it, so it will require a visit to the Dell Doctor.

Adam and Eve lost their righteousness so they could no longer stand in the presents of God!
Exzk 34
[Moses was translated to talk with God but his face shone (from the illumination of the Lord) and frighten thoes that Moses spoke too so he placed a vail over his face.]
29 ¶ And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
Actually Reg. I was posting some information from Apple about their first foray into 64 bit architecture for desktop computers because of your stated interest in the latest processors.
Upsmanship is what you did :-)
Can you even buy a desktop with either the Xeon or Opteron?
Some other info if you haven't already put in your order for the Opteron:
Here is a link with some head to head comparisons between the Xeon and the Opteron Tom's Hardware. I can't vouch for the conclusions but it seems the Xeon is faster than Opteron in workstation (as opposed to server) tasks. Of course I wouldn't be surprised to find you've given away much (if not all) of your price advantage over the Mac in either instance. Both the G5 and the Opteron seem to have an advantage over the Xeon in that they handle legacy 32bit code natively rather than through emulation.
v.
(Mat 28:9) And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Luke 24:39-43 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
And he took it, and did eat before them.
Douglas, get it through your thick head! Jesus was resurrected with a flesh and bone body, the very same body He had before He died, but resurrected, and glorified, and made into a body of flesh that can also move in the spiritual realm as well as the physical. This is God we're talking about here, and He can do anything, even make a flesh and bone body able to exist in either the spiritual or the temporal. Quit being so blind!
