The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

No. We went looking at stables and trailors today. I've been surfing on the internet. The problem is that I don't want to buy one until August though and any I like now may be gone by then. I don't want to jump in unprepared. I've got a lot to learn and do first. Tomorrow I need to make sure my vet will treat horses .

Jumping in unprepared is the fastest way to learn though:) That is what we did. We bought the horse then put up fence. Our first fence was one strand of hot wire strung on insulators nailed to trees around our 5 acres. We kept horses in that for 3-4 yrs.

We borrowed all the tack the first 6 months. Didn't have a trailer for 5 yrs. LOL, maybe it would have been easier if I had read the book first.

I wonder what the neighbors would say if I just put one in the back yard. (I live in a sub-division). Sure would cut down on mowing :').

Thing is I'm concerned someone will steal her. That's why I didn't like the stable I looked at today. Not secure enough. Cindy is a mix and no one bothers her but I have had 3 pure bred dogs that have all been stolen.

Did you read the home page on the link you sent me about the ranch in Joshua?. Very impressive. I'm going to contact them.

Thus does God, when he raises a soul to union with Himself, suspend the natural action of all her faculties. She neither sees, hears, nor understands, so long as she is united with God. But this time is always short, and it seems even shorter than it is. God establishes Himself in the interior of this soul in such a way, that when she returns to herself, it is wholly impossible for her to doubt that she has been in God, and God in her. This truth remains so strongly impressed on her that, even though many years should pass without the condition returning, she can neither forget the favor she received, nor doubt of its reality. If you, nevertheless, ask how it is possible that the soul can see and understand that she has been in God, since during the union she has neither sight nor understanding, I reply that she does not see it then, but that she sees it clearly later, after she has returned to herself, not by any vision, but by a certitude which abides in her and which God alone can give her...

But how, you will repeat, can one have such certainty in respect to what one does not see? This question, I am powerless to answer. These are secrets of God's omnipotence which it does not appertain to me to penetrate. All that I know is that I tell the truth; and I shall never believe that any soul who does not possess this certainty has ever been really united to God.

Friends and loves we have none, nor wealth nor blessed abode,
But the hope of the City of God at the other end of the road.

Not for us are content, and quiet, and peace of mind,
For we go seeking a city that we shall never find.

There is no solace on earth for us--for such as we--
Who search for a hidden city that we shall never see.

Only the road and the dawn, the sun, the wind, and the rain,
And the watch fire under stars, and sleep, and the road again.

We seek the City of God, and the haunt where beauty dwells,
And we find the noisy mart and the sound of burial bells.

Never the golden city, where radiant people meet,
But the dolorous town where mourners are going about the street.

We travel the dusty road till the light of the day is dim,
And sunset shows us spires away on the world's rim.

We travel from dawn to dusk, till the day is past and by,
Seeking the Holy City beyond the rim of the sky.

Friends and loves we have none, nor wealth nor blest abode,
But the hope of the City of God at the other end of the road.

Looks like we better wait on this one a while. :)

You're probably right. Any others you've been looking at?

Can they be doing the will of God if they deny Gods authority over them? It is their will. Not Gods.

If their will coincides with the will of God, then I'd say they are "doing the will of God".

Chapter1. horses been around 60 million years, not a theory but a fact

That would seem to be problematic for young-Earth creationists.

My Mom lives near Waco. I have seen the town, driving from her house to Ft. Worth. You ought to read it. They take in abandoned and abused horses , heal them and then find them homes.

WOW, they do sound impressive. I wish I found a place like that to buy a horse from. The price on the one I sent you wasn't bad if he was as good as they said.

BTW, speaking of impressive, do you know not to buy anything that has IMPRESSIVE (name of a QH stud) in thier bloodlines if you buy a papered horse? Impressive was the first horse ever that started a sydrome called HYPP and it is a dominate gene so he passed it on. This syndrome affects a horses muscles, causes them to lockup where they can't move, it can kill them, or just be a bad problem. They have developed a test for it to see if a horse has it, and Impressive horses are usually advertised for sale with test results shown, but your best bet is if you get a papered horse check to see if Impressive is anywhere in there and avoid it.

Don't let this scare you, it's not that big of a deal, but you need to be aware if anyone starts talking about HYPP and the horse is negative/negative, which are test results, I would still stay away from it. Horses can be negative/negative, negative/positive, positive/negative, or positive/positive. Impressive horses are most generally, big muscular horses, because the syndrome keeps their muscles flexed all the time. Before we knew much about it we bought our son a roping horse that tested neg/pos. We were told with those test results the likelihood of him having problems was very very very slim. But of course he did, so I have always wondered how accurate their testing is.

I saw Ksens post about the hobbit get together. We should plan something like that for the NES.

We've talked about that before. Lexington, KY was noted as the most central location for everyone.
