Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
I never said that. I'll definitely look into revising my insurance plans, cause I do have whole life on me and the wife.

(tHe AnTiLiB posted) HE INTERPRETED SCRIPTURE DIFFERENTLY THAN WHAT THE BIBLE CLEARLY SAID, ... NOT REBELLIOUS, BUT SMART.
(Quester replied) JESUS is the AUTHOR of the scriptures. As such, He has the right and perogatve to provide us with the correct interpretation of the scriptures.
(tHe AnTiLiB replied) Jesus wasn't around when the scriptures were written by the "Father?"
(Reggie comment) Seems kinda crazy to me, but not unexpected from the anti one.
(Now Cindy replies to Anti) Morning, antilib. Glad you are reading your bible. What scripture are you finding this in ? CD
(Now IMRight chimes in) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning." - John 1: 1-2

What am I missing? What sense does Anti's reply make?
Is IMRight serious? Is he aware of the context involved in the series of posts? Is he providing Quester with information he is not familiar with?
To my knowledge the Congress has not had a conference committee on that legislation yet. So while each house has voted on a versino of it, there has been no final vote on a reconciled version.

As always, steve, you miss the point that it is not the word "eternal" that is in question, it is the word "believe."
Is it a one time articulation of an intellectual acceptance, or is it that accompanied by the working out of the faith that Paul desrcibed?
Turning the attention to the word "eternal" is like the magician pulling your eyes away from what his other hand is doing.

You can make the premium savings work for you for the next 20 or so years and can then drop all "life" insurance.
Not a lot. He seems to be operating under the (quite incorrect) premise that Jesus specifically contradicted the meaning of the commandments, as set forth in the OT when He "Worked" on the Sabbath.
Quester points out that Jesus can provide us with the correct interpretation, which is exactly the correct position.
Antilib seems to have, despite Quester's clear identification of Jesus as the Author of Scripture, taken Quester's position to be that Jesus was not around to write Scripture correctly the first time, and had to "change" it.
Which is, as I said, very confused and incorrect.

Thanks. I guess the hard part would be the self-discipline. When the insurance company sends a bill, you pay it. Getting used to paying yourself through investments is challenging.
(Which is why my other investments are right out of the paycheck.)

Cue the heavenly choir. We have reached a point of agreement! Alleluia!

That's what it says. Yes.

No, I don't believe it ever says that.
Those who believe have eternal life. Those that do not, do not.
When you cease to believe, you cease to have eternal life. It's really not that difficult of a proposition, it's just that the perception you have is more convenient.
