The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

Jesus Christ was no fundamentalist...

(courtesy of IMRight)

In John 9, John talks about Jesus healing an ill man on the Sabbath, while the pharisees bash him with the second commandment ("Thou shall keep the Sabbath Day holy"), Jesus stands by His actions...

HE INTERPRETED SCRIPTURE DIFFERENTLY THAN WHAT THE BIBLE CLEARLY SAID, NOT REBELLIOUS, BUT SMART.

If Saint Louis De Montfort was alive now, he would NOT have cried for more praise

You mean unless he were a tool of the devil - in which case he would go right on crying for more.. kindof a Billy idol type thing.. (she cried more, more, more - with a rebel yell..) It's too bad they can't see the error in it; but, then the blinders would need come off. And they are far too intelligent to remove them or even seek to do so.

The Dallas Morning News has recently been reporting on the number of sex offenses by school teachers , more than 600 cases in which the districts covered the offenses and passed the offenders on to other school districts. For some reason this has not made the national publications, although what is true in Texas, it probably is true elsewhere. Maybe when someone sues a district for $100 million and wins?

Went and caught up with the doc last night. Doc says everything looks fine. He even prescribed a medication to deal with this rash I have. So, if dave begins shrinking...(couldn't pass it up dave). Seriously, though, I'm doing quite well now. I have occasional discomfort and the usual bumps and bruises; but, am otherwise back on top of things.
Thank you.

Did you see the worlds biggest however. One paragraph that tries to praise the Lord and even that is through Mary, then back to exalting Mary. I have been considering how much RC's much hate Paul. He never once used Mary's name he unfolded so man secrets about the Lord and had a thousand opportunities to reveal those special De Montfortian secrets about Mary, but didn't. He put Peter, the first inerrant pope, in his place. I sure don't get that Marianism from the Apostle Paul. It is all invention from the likes of De Montfort and pope whats his face.

This bears repeating! All those churches he planted, all those inspired letters he wrote, and not one hint of what is for some the number one pastime.

JESUS is the AUTHOR of the scriptures. As such, He has the right and perogatve to provide us with the correct interpretation of the scriptures.

When you're young and naive you can rent an apartment without any insurance, gambling having faith that nothing will get stolen or that, in the event of a loss, the Lord will provide

(To varying degrees, this how some regard insurance.)

Ever play Chalupa?

Never played it, ate it, or bet on it. Most likely I never will. (This time around.)

Has Mary ever appeared to you while on a mountain, most likely the answer is no (or any other dead person for that matter). You would be one of the most jubilant people alive. You cannot dismiss that she did appear to Saint Louis de Montfort, because she appeared so many times.

You're sure it was Mary that appeared to him ? How would he know if it were really she or not ? How would you know if it were really she or not ?

Remeber, ... the Mormons say that God, the Father and Son appeared to Joseph Smith, too.

JMO but I think the infiltration is too deep in our public schools and too far gone for us to fix. Private and homeschooling are my recommendations but we need to keep the government vouchers out because once in, the government will allow agenda pushers to ruin them also, in the name of equality.

One paragraph that tries to praise the Lord and even that is through Mary, then back to exalting Mary. What do you ignore the CONTENT of that paragraph? It puts into perspective his effusive praise of Mary. No matter what else he says, this means that it does not amount to the apotheosis of Mary. It is simply a paean to the Moher of Our Lord.

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,

It certainly is. Especially in the OT context.

You don't know the half of it. Did you know that the Vatican has scholars working night and day to assist Minneapolis in developing "Twin City" jokes?

The problem is that Catholic and other private schools are also filled with teachers who have been trained in teacher's colleges. In other words, their heads are filled with the same ideological mush.

Ridiculous. He still covets the money, he still desires to have the money come to him. Or else he wouldn't sign the contract to begin with.

Unless he's mentally unbalanced or a criminal there's no way that he desires the money to "come to him". He may desire it to go to a benificary, but it's still a far cry from casino gambling.

The money still comes to his estate and can be distributed according to his "will." (Interesting word, no?) So spare me the simplistic "he's dead so he doesnt' care" argument. He obviously cares if he desires money for his beneficiaries.

And yes, you miss my point entirely. It is a far cry from casion gambling, but it is still gambling for money. And that was your definition.

Look, you're making the argument that it's okay to covet as long as your motivations are good. I don't agree with that any more than I agree that it's okay to steal as long as your motives are good.

Not at all. I am making the case that not all gambling for money is "coveting," hence sinful. Do you remember when you said it was, or do you wish to modify your definition now?

The fact is there are many types of ventures that fit this exact description and gambling is only one of them. I could take $50,000 and open up a bagel shop and rifle range and lose it all. I open the shop not to lose the money, but to risk the money in order to gain more.

Why do you want more money?

To prepare for the future. Do you not want to have an income in the future?

No it does not put it in perspective. If I were to shag a prostitute for an hour a day every day and for 10 seconds each day I said I really loved my wife the most, big whoop. My saying those little words sure rings a little hollow doesn't it. This is a biblical analogy which is why I use it.
