The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

What the hell does Jesus being without sin have to do with in_principio_erat_Verbum?

Have you declared him Immaculate? Is he now free from questioning becuase he is our Lord?

Does it remind you of how difficult it was to get any of the RC's to deny it was/is ok to kill "heretics"?

They split 50-50 on that, as I recall. ;o)

You could ping Quester or the808bass, but then you'd have to explain the whole thing all over again.

True. I wouldn't want to do that to them.

Dave. Could you spare us the tears about ridicule? You're the master of it.

AMEN! It's getting awfully thick the past couple days. Makes my stomach turn.

Do you have your begging clothes on? Are you on your knees and in a prayerful posture?

What the hell are you talking about? Now I have to beg people to answer simple questions that directly relate to the arguments they are making?

Does it remind you of how difficult it was to get any of the RC's to deny it was/is ok to kill "heretics"?

If it does, what does that tell you?

Why would I expect anyone to characterize what I say accurately?

I said nothing about whether they were "conscious" of their "wickedness." Only that certain sinful acts, which one attempt to refrain from, can sometimes occur when we are weak. This is not to say that we set out or have a "conscious design" to sin, just that we fail.

Of course, upon reflection, even whilst sinning we can be "conscious" of our "wickedness."

My words are being twisted around. As usual.

It would help if there was an honest NC around who might join in an honest examination of the occasions of sin and the impulses and motives and culpabilities for such. But that will have to wait for the Lutheran or Anglican, who, of course being sacramental, don't count.

Time for a name change? How about SuperVictim?

Yes, I have. And my understanding of what he said is quite different than yours.

For what it's worth, my understanding of what he said is the same as yours.

Thank you. If only there was some way for them to consider the reality of how one can set out to avoid sin and fall in, again and again over one's life. Even though one did not set out to spend one's life repeating the same mistakes.

I can't think of any way to bring the subject up, to make them think of it. Oh well.

Mack, can you post the picture of that bike that can do 400 mph? :o)

The Tomahawk is likely to see the light of day, according to #2 exec Wolfgang Bernhard, who said we'd know by summer 2003. It's a Viper V-10 based motorcycle, a 500 horsepower engine sitting out in the elements with some wheels beneath it. The price would be at least $250,000, and there would be only a few hundred made. Frankly, we suspect the Tomahawk will be built, due to a huge amount of public interest.

The Dodge Tomahawk can reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds, and has a theoretical top speed of nearly 400 mph. Each pair of wheels is separated by a few inches and each wheel has an independent suspension. Bernhard said four wheels were necessary to handle the power from the engine.

Reggie, you're going to need to decide if your overriding theme is going to be the defense of what is true and right, or just picking on anything I say and then claiming non-involvement with those mischaracterizing me.

Cindy,

I am of no denomination really. I was a Catholic until I read the Bible, and that was the end of that there. LOL

One might question the state of salvation in a person like this. You're talking about someone who is involved in a really bad sin, not stealing a paper clip. And yes stealing the paper clip is wrong also, all sin is to God, but to man the act of sexually abusing children is REALLY bad, and if a person has problems with that over and over again, well he might not be saved in the first place.

Yes. He might not. I certainly wouldn't want to be anywhere near this type of person. I wouldn't associate with him at all.

But you and Mack have told me that the only person whose salvation you can be assured of is your own. Doesn't that apply here? Are we to judge that such a person is definitely not a man who has any faith? As opposed to a very sick and troubled man who has a very weak faith, that he struggles with a personal temptation?
