Well, for one, ... we are attempting to evaluate the relationship between another of God's children and God, rather than concentrating on our own relationship with God.

Yes. And no. We only are discussing these things cause they are the symptoms of the discord we have between us. These are only an issue cause NCs do not accept the Church.

We, really, have more pressing issues to attend to.

We, really, don't. I have heard more confused Christology in the last few days than I ever have in my life. NCs who reject Mary go numerous ways offf into thoe wilderness of mistaking who Jesus is. And I consider that to be important.

If you imagine that Jesus no longer considers His mother to be someone special to Him, then you have a different idea of how "human" He was. This is not a trivial issue.

MLB Commissioner Bud Selig said last month that he was excited about the possibilities of taking the game to new areas of the world.

Of course. It's dead in Canada and dying in most of the U.S.

It's time to look for new saps.

Hey, now we have a point of agreement! ;o)

Somehow, that's not nearly as apocalyptic as the other one would have been. ;O)

I just wish I could post it directly in the thread.

Isn't there some utility to convert it an animated GIF?

Who do you feel is not with you on this point ?

Everyone. Havoc for sure, thinks that the Apostles were still operating under the rules of the original mission.

Nobody knows what Reggie believes, but his continual taking of potshots at me indicates less than agreement with me.

Weren't there in fact two missions, one before JEsus' death, and one after?

Didn't they have different rules?

Hey, it was just a hack job putting that together. Do you really want me to put some serious time in on it? ;o)

Yeah, I could do that. But I didn't want to make anyone mad by posting an animated gif ... don't want to end up on someone else's hate-o-meter. ;o)

I was trying to say something outrageously wrong about Baptists, by way of comparison. I guess I failed.

Do you mean something like this?

Salvation Only Through Mary The foundation of all our confidence is found in the Virgin Mary. God has committed to her the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is His will: that we obtain everything through Mary. Sweet heart of Mary, be my salvation! Pope Pius IX

For, since it is the will of Divine Providence that we should have the God-Man through Mary, there is no other way for us to receive Christ except from her hands. Pope Pius X

He will not taste death forever who, in his dying moments, has recourse to the Blessed Virgin Mary. What will it cost you to save us? Has not Jesus placed in your hands all the treasures of His grace and mercy? You sit crowned as Queen at the right hand of your Son: your dominion reaches as far as the heavens, and to you are subject the earth and all creatures dwelling thereon. Your dominion reaches even down into the abyss of Hell, and you alone O Mary, save us from the hands of Satan. Pope Pius XI

Nothing comes to us except through the mediation of Mary, for such is the will of God. O Virgin Most Holy, no one abounds in the knowledge of God except through thee; no one O Mother of God, attains salvation except through thee! Every one of the multitudes, therefore, whom the evil of calamitous circumstances has stolen away from Catholic unity, must be born again to Christ by that same Mother whom God has endowed with a never-failing fertility to bring forth a holy people.Pope Leo XIII

Or do you believe everyone is given the exact same talents, blessings, and role to play?

28. Mary has authority over the angels and the blessed in heaven. As a reward for her great humility, God gave her the power and the mission of assigning to saints the thrones made vacant by the apostate angels who fell away through pride. Such is the will of almighty God who exalts the humble, that the powers of heaven, earth and hell, willingly or unwillingly, must obey the commands of the humble Virgin Mary. For God has made her queen of heaven and earth, leader of his armies, keeper of his treasures, dispenser of his graces, worker of his wonders, restorer of the human race, mediatrix on behalf of men, destroyer of his enemies, and faithful associate in his great works and triumphs. If we read this in context we see that Mary is just like any of us. Yeah that's it.

ROTFLMAO! Yeah, we get to play harps and she gets all of this stuff plus another 60 or so paragraphs worth. In RC lore Mary has 10 times as many names as Jesus does.

Yes, ... we do ... for some have no Christology.

This goes along way toward explaining the intense, simultaneous attraction and animosity seen by so many here, doesn't it?

They are deeply afraid that if they drop the loathing of Mary, they might be vulnerable.

Even sadder. TO immerse oneself in the Bible, but to never stop to contemplate who this Jesus is.

That is bad enough.

But to then have an intense passionate antipathy to those who happen to have made the effort.

Jealous, aren't you? You know many saints made a name for themselves, and fill bokshelvs with their deeds and thoughts.

It isn't hopeless, unless you intend to be God's Mother.

Are there really verses of Scripture which some believe support a repudiation by Jesus of His mother?

I have yet to see a posting which claims "repudiation" by Jesus of His mother. Are you playing the SD trick of changing peoples words to what they "seem" to you?

There are Bible passages where Jesus makes it very clear that we are not to assign any special veneration/worship/adoration to his mother.

Further, I have seen no postings which deny Mary was blessed.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood you. Yes, evangelising to those who know no Jesus at all is one thing. Like going out to the nations.

But there is also a need to gather up the lost sheep, isn't there?

Making you superior to God. Hence 10 times as many names and probably as many more prayers.
