The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

I'd say it's your #1 beef period. You sure do put a lot of effort into this "study." I wonder what kind a graces God would pour out on you (or anyone here) if you (or we) channelled this kind of effort into becoming more like Christ instead of trying to prove the other wrong.

Acts 19:9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

Christlike/Paullike same thing.

All the praying worked :') She cleared all 26 of my charts. (thank you Jesus). I have been doing these assessments for years but this was the first time that I had been thru a survey while working for my husband. I didn't feel I was ready and then I had the added concern of not wanting to let him down either. He was really sweet and told me before the review started that even if it turned out bad it was ok because he knew how hard I had been working and that I had been doing a good job. (that was before he noticed I put in 45 hours of overtime last week though. lol). Anyway after the audit was over, the administrator took my husband and I to Tony Ramas for dinner. I was holding my drink and listening to the boss talk about how he met his girlfriend and the the next thing I knew was that I had poured diet coke all over myself. I had fell asleep!

LOL:)

We are having a revival at our church this week. Sunday was so warm here that we rode our bikes to church Sunday night.

Monday I had to go to the dentist and landed up having to have a root canal:( The dentist gave a prescription for pain medication. I took one before we left for church Mon. night to be sure it did not start hurting when the novicaine wore off. I just rode on the back with Mack that night.

Anyway the pain medication was a lot stronger then I anticipated it was going to be. I was really out there by the end of service, but really thought that I was maintaining my poise pretty good.

But Mack said I was stumbling around and look so drugged up that he went along behind me explaining to everyone what my problem was. He was afraid since I showed up on a Harley on Sunday and stumbling around on Mon. people would get the wrong idea:)

I didn't really believe him that I was doing that badly but on Tues. the revival preacher and our preacher both said they noticed, but thought I must have just been very tired, LOL, until Mack explained.

Upset? I'm not upset. I find the whole thing quite laughable. Not Mary's egg? Puh-leeze. I'm still waiting for someone from the non-Catholic side to take that one on. There is no biblical evidence to support such a claim. Quester said he sided with Dave, but there's still not much in the way of rebuking that erroneous statement.

You know I wasn't "minimizing" her role, but I don't "maximize" her role either. She was honored and I admire and respect what she did just like I do for others the Bible speaks about, that accepted God's will and did great things thru Him.

Is she just "a mother"? I wouldn't say that. I also wouldn't say that she is just like the others who did God's will.

You are a mother, right? How can you not recognize that the person chosen by God to bring Him into the world is a special and distinct honor, even among the other saints?

As for prayer to saints, this is just an area where we disagree. As I've said many times before, we do not view the Christian community to be composed of two, seperated halves, the dead and the living.

Good. Since the biblical evidence is essentional you shouldn't be oppossed to showing us some biblical evidence to support Perpetual Virginity and assumption and stuff like that.

Sacred Tradition, Steven. Perhpas you've heard of that? ;o)

There's nothing, traditionally or biblically, that supports that oddball theory of Jesus not being of Mary's egg. Without dodging or changing the subject, do you agree or disagree?

No. Sorry. I meant that as a joke. The actual baby bunny rabbit that my wife rescued the other day has demised. At least he died peacfully and not by being torn apart.

Heard of it, yes. Some of us believe, however, that parts of human tradition are false. And so what are we left with? Scripture of course. And then when you ask for biblical evidence but can't produce it yourself the "sacred tradition" wildcard doesn't work.

There's nothing, traditionally or biblically, that supports that oddball theory of Jesus not being of Mary's egg. Without dodging or changing the subject, do you agree or disagree?

I never said there was. We were discussing Wonk's motives. Has nothing to do with whether or not I agree with the "egg" thing.

Wait a minute. We were discussing Wonk's motives 2 posts ago. The last one we werent. I don't know if I agree or not. Refresh my memory, what's the egg thing about? :-)

That's OK. I was trying to fool someone by saying what I said. I just didn't think it would be you.

They said that it was highly unlikely that a wild rabbit could be saved like that. He was way too young. But my wife enjoyed feeding him and stuff.

Is Mary truly Jesus' mother, or was she entirely a surrogate?

That is, is Jesus related to her? Did He take His human nature from His mother?
